Sheridan Pet Care is not just another veterinary clinic! We are a bond-centered, relationship-based practice built on connection, compassion, and community impact.
We are seeking a full-time Client Service Coordinator (CSR) to be the welcoming face and voice of our practice. This is primarily a client service/front desk position, but because we are a small, collaborative team, there will be times when you may also assist with patient care and support the medical team.
Previous veterinary experience and the ability to assist with patients are preferred, but your primary focus will be creating an exceptional experience for our clients—from the first phone call through the end of their visit.
We are looking for someone who values empathy first, teamwork over position, and understands that great communication is just as important as great medicine.

🩺🐍The snakes haven't quite slithered off yet!! These two curious canines are proof!
We recently had an exciting day treating not one, but two, household dogs for rattlesnake envenomation!
Did you know .....
Within Wyoming, the Prairie Rattlesnake occurs across most of the state east of the Absaroka and Wind River Mountain Ranges, mainly at lower elevations, like right here in Sheridan County!
The Prairie Rattlesnake is known for its hemotoxins which damage red blood cells, detected under the microscope as echinocytes. The toxin disrupts blood vessels, causing uncontrolled bleeding, severe bruising, and poor blood clotting.
Cytotoxins and enzymes in the venin break down connective tissues and muscle fibers at the bite site, leading to massive localized swelling and tissue death, known as necrosis.
While neurotoxins in the venin can further affect nerve tissues, contributing to systemic weakness or respiratory distress.
Swelling from rattlesnake bites tend to be rapid, but can continue for up to 36 hours. Snake bites can be very painful.
These two were treated with antivenin, close monitoring by our team for reactions during the infusion and pain control. With some TLC and time they were discharged to go home and thankful for the report they are doing well!
🐭 MOUSE POISON: A SERIOUS DANGER TO DOGS 🐾
Rodenticides look like treats to curious pets and are made to be attractive — but even a small amount can cause severe illness or death in our unintended vistors, our pets.
It's also very important to know treatment depends entirely on the active ingredient.
🩸 ANTICOAGULANT RODENTICIDES
These toxins prevent the blood from clotting. Dogs may appear normal for several days before developing internal bleeding.
🧠 BROMETHALIN
Bromethalin is a neurotoxin that causes swelling and dysfunction of the brain and nervous system. There is no antidote.
🫘 CHOLECALCIFEROL—or concentrated vitamin D₃
This toxin causes dangerously high calcium and phosphorus levels, which can mineralize and permanently damage the kidneys, heart, blood vessels, and other tissues.
⚠️ If your dog may have eaten rodenticide:
• Do not wait for symptoms.
• Call a veterinarian immediately, even if your dog appears completely normal for instructions on what to do.
• Bring the package—or take clear photos of the label, active ingredient, concentration, and EPA registration number. Bait color and shape cannot reliably identify the toxin.

🐭 SAFER WAYS TO MANAGE MICE
Whenever possible, avoid toxins and focus on prevention.
“Pet-resistant” bait stations are NOT pet-proof. The safest poison around pets is no poison at all.

🥾Check Them After the Trek
The hike may be over, but there’s one more thing to do before you call it a day: check your pet for ticks.
Even just today we had a client say she found a tick on her dog - they aren't gone yet! 🌿🐜
Run your hands slowly over your pet’s coat and skin, checking carefully around the
ears, neck, legs, between the toes, and other easy-to-miss areas.
While you’re at it, take a look at their paws for burrs, cuts, tenderness, or anything else they may have picked up along the trail.
Keeping your pet’s tick prevention current and making post-adventure checks part of your routine can help keep outdoor fun from bringing unwanted hitchhikers home.
