~Happy 12th Birthday~

My oldest son turned 12 on Tuesday. How could that happen? Where does time go? Can I make it slow down? I think I missed some things, maybe missed some opportunities with him. I would give anything to have him as a baby for just one more day. Cuddle him, kiss him, smell that baby smell. I wanted him to get bigger, for things to be “easier” but now I miss it. I blinked and it passed too quickly. Now I have a pre-teen. I think that makes me old.

I wonder...

Am I a good mom? Do I make him feel special and loved? Am I too strict? Maybe too lenient? Do I hug him enough? Does it embarrass him if I hug him? Oh I hope not.
Is his bedtime too early or should he get more privileges since he’s older now? Does he eat enough vegetables? Drink enough water?
I hope he remembered to take his vitamins and put on deodorant today, because I forgot to remind him.

I hope he....

Grows up strong and healthy and is always kind. I hope he treats people well and with respect. I pray he loves Jesus with his whole heart and remembers to fight his battles on his knees and not with his fists. I hope he always wants to come home and that his memories of childhood are sweet. I hope he knows his momma loves him fiercely...forever... to the moon and back times a million.
