1. You start feeling a whole spectrum of emotions
If you only register feeling sad, mad, or glad, then you’re not awake to all of the emotions that we are capable of! As you turn down the volume of your physical + mental stress then your feelings can be felt.

2. You don’t feel guilty for saying No
Remember hearing ā€œNo is a complete sentenceā€? Because it is. Healthy boundaries help to restore your resilience.

3. Smiling at yourself in the mirror feels genuine
Mirror neurons in your brain elicit the emotion that you see. Smiling authentically at yourself helps you feel genuinely happier, as you practice loving that gorgeous face looking back at you.

4. Your time for exercise or self care is non-negotiable
Making yourself a priority also gets easier with practice. And when you’ve truly felt the benefit of the activities that fill your cup then you know that it really is OK to put yourself first!

5. You don’t hear yourself repeating the same complaints over and over
As you take action toward resolving issues that cause you stress, you feel more confident + capable. Instead of feeling frustrated, you start finding solutions.

6. You receive criticism with curiosity instead of anger or shame
Being able to examine a critical comment objectively helps you understand if it truly applies to you or if it only reflects the mental or emotional state of the one sharing it.

7. You can let people to have their opinion without it ruining your day.
You don’t bite your tongue anymore to avoid conflict
ā€œKeeping the peaceā€ adds to your burden of emotional stress. Speaking with calm authenticity helps your words land more effectively and maintain your healthy boundaries.

8. You don’t fill every spare moment with scrolling or other distractions
When you’re not afraid of facing the feelings that bubble up, you begin to savor the space. Quiet moments become an opportunity to tune in + connect with your inner wisdom.

Struggling to slow down and make space for yourself? You’re not alone!
If you feel overwhelmed, I can help you flip the script on stress.

Rage is an emotion, and it deserves to be felt... But being stuck in anger doesn't help you, or anyone around you.

These are 3 tips to transform your fury by learning how to pause instead of pitching a fit. Expressing your emotions is natural and healthy, although ruminating and identifying yourself with emotions like rage doesn't actually help you process it - you might even be wiring your brain to hold that anger and cultivate more of it.

Once you can pause and get even a little bit of perspective on the situation, then you can look for opportunities to make sure your needs are met, and ways to take action, to find resolution and even make an impact that improves your life in the moment and with lasting benefit.

Are you ready to let go of your anger?

Regulation is not all that your nervous system wants from you!

A funny thing happened when I saw Mae Martin in San Diego... I got called out along with all the creators who want to help you regulate your nervous system.

And Mae is right!!!
Regulation is NOT the only goal.
In fact, we should feel dysregulated in this mad, mad, mad, mad world! The power is in having the tools to come back into balance, but not until you have received the signal that your 'fight or flight' stress response is sending you.

First, recognize what you're perceiving is a threat. Next, understand what is needed: moving yourself to safety or taking an action to reaffirm that you have power in the moment. Aaaaaand then, check in with your nervous system and use the tool from your toolkit that will bring you back into parasympathetic balance - You're building resilience and your confidence in meeting the challenges that life serves up.

Thanks Mae, for leading me to look on my message with fresh eyes. And for creating this awesome hat! Love your art and your presence, you rocked the house.
