The Koken Barber Chair Repair Guide — Second Edition is available on Amazon today.

This edition is a substantial rebuild of the original guide, with a clearer troubleshooting-first structure, preserved Koken diagrams, step-by-step repair photography, updated terminology, and more practical guidance around the mechanical systems that matter most.

We also went back to the original repair knowledge rather than simply modernizing the design. That includes clearer coverage of the pump assembly, stem valve, locking block, rock shaft, reclining mechanism, reassembly, and inspection.

The goal was to make the guide easier to actually use while working on a chair—without losing the hands-on experience behind the original.
