Happy Monday friends 🐐🤎

The girls all got their pedicures yesterday and a good once-over while we were at it! Regular hoof trimming is such an important part of keeping them comfortable, balanced, and moving well.. plus it gives us a chance to catch little issues before they become big ones.

Breeding season is creeping up, so we’re working through all the things • even though the girls are all a little too well fed at the moment 😂 Bloodwork is coming later this month too!

I can’t wait to see more of Hoedie’s daughters freshen next kidding season. The milk girls have been powering through and doing great! 🥛

Now I need to start saving goat milk for soap making because I already have a few new bars in mind. 🧼✨

What soap should I make first? 👀

Some days just go like this… 🤍

I should probably be putting away the baskets of laundry that have been patiently waiting for me… but instead I decided I haven’t made sourdough in forever, so naturally Dunkin and Lady May needed to be fed first. 🍞✨

Then I figured, “Well, I should probably make an adrenal cocktail too…” I just ate a bunch of buffalo jerky, so a little vitamin C never hurts… right? 😂

Somehow it’s already afternoon, the laundry is still sitting there looking at me, but my sourdough starters are happy and I have numerous infusions going. I’d call that a win. 🌿✨

Around here, the to-do list has a funny way of rearranging itself.

A quick little milk-testing update! 🥛🐐

Milk testing tracks each doe’s production throughout her lactation, including total milk, butterfat, and protein. Last year, Salute, Lieu, Outrageous!, and Phoenix met the requirements in all three categories, qualifying them for their milk stars! ⭐

Everyone currently in milk is back on test this year, and they are absolutely knocking it out of the park. These girls have stayed steady and consistent… even with my less-than-perfect 12 hour milking schedule.

I’m so grateful to their breeders for putting such productive, hardworking does into the world! 💛

I decided to do one more since Riot was only a week fresh when we did our first test.

The girls are still rocking it, even after switching hay suppliers twice and dealing with some seriously up-and-down weather!

I’m so excited to see where everyone finishes this lactation, and I can’t wait to see what next year brings. So proud of these girls. 💛🐐

Lil Miss Witchy is the life of the party, the class clown, and the farm’s resident troublemaker. 😂 She’s always looking for something to get into and recently got nailed on the nose by a Jackraptor for invading his personal space. Apparently, even chickens have boundaries. 🤣

She’s a beautiful girl, full of personality, and I can’t wait to see her freshen!
