Last week, the FBI Field Office of NYC visited my 4-year old daughter's classroom. She returned home with her actual picture on a mock-up of the FBI's Most Wanted poster. Her mugshot and personal information was placed on a sheet modeled after the FBI's actual Most Wanted Criminals List. The story quickly went viral and this incident has made many realize how deeply ingrained the militarized power dynamic is. There are big forces that reinforce the narrative and imagery that make children grow up thinking that they should be criminals and go to prison. Our precious little children are subtly conditioned to associate crime with their identity.
We demand Picture Day at FBI/CIA Headquarters for all children who the FBI gave mugshots and most wanted posters to without parental consent.
The FBI and CIA have historically played roles in undermining American leadership, from Martin Luther King Jr. to Patrice Lumumba abroad. Through targeted investigations and assassinations, inappropriate policies and deliberate destruction of our culture, with a ruthless militarized presence, and prison industrial complex that enforces crime on the have-nots, we cannot be a free nation when these powers are targeting our children. It is high time we rectify this damage elders like Andrew Young spoke of at the 2024 International Leadership Summit, when he discussed the FBI's targeting of Civil Rights leadership through the ages.

We propose the establishment of a Ministry of Culture funded by these very agencies that have contributed to the problem as well as leveraging the power of American culture. This department would work towards correcting historical injustices inflicted upon our communities, promoting cultural understanding, and fostering positive representation.

According to data from The Sentencing Project (2018), African Americans are incarcerated at more than 5 times the rate of whites in America due to systemic racial disparities in law enforcement practices. By investing resources into bringing out the best of our culture instead of perpetuating harmful stereotypes, we can begin addressing these disparities at their root.

As a father, I believe it's critical to take steps towards healing our communities rather than continuing to criminalize the next generation. Sign this petition if you believe in justice for all children regardless of their race or ethnicity. Sign this if you believe the FBI should not be trying to trick babies into believing they are bound for prison cells.

My 4-year old daughter came home with this picture after a recent visit to her school by the FBI Field office of NYC. I don’t mind the agency reading books to children. However, the agency sent 2 agents to read to a group of 4-year olds and took pictures with the children wearing life-size bulletproof vests—which I think is a bit dicey given the same type of body armor is likely illegal for an adult civilian to wear.

I draw the line with the wanted posters and toddler mugshots. We have to wonder where our county is headed when some of the most intelligent professionals in the federal government, have a template based on that reserved for the nation’s most dangerous criminals prepared for 3-5 year old children.

I was at the George W. Bush Presidential Center + when this occurred. First Lady Laura Bush, a former librarian, also happened to be present. I would never consent to my child’s name and photo anywhere near crime and the mass incarceration state or prison industrial complex.

My question, for which I have demanded answers from my elected officials:

A. Why does FBI distribute a form making light of children as criminals?
B. To what demographic are these forms being distributed?

Given the emphasis on criminal psychology, the agency is intelligent enough to discern that children’s whose brains are growing at their most rapid rate and are incredible fertile learners that remember, listen and observe. Are we blatantly conditioning children to become criminals or is this a stupid mistake?

I know hundreds of men personally who thought jail and gangs were a rite of passage. They somehow thought crime was cool until they realized prison is modern day slavery.

I look forward to meeting with various leadership across multiple levels of Government to discuss this. I appreciate leadership within the Dallas Police & Federal Public Defender’s Office, as well as nationwide clergy condemning such images.

The reason I’m participating in the Zayad Harris Foundation to uplift teen mental health has much to do with the fact that a generation of youth were brainwashed by industry and street culture to think crime and jail was cool, until they woke up dead or in a nightmarish cycle, or didn’t wake up at all.
