Not my favorite day… today is brain MRI day… it’s that day that I CAN NOT pretend like I don’t have chronic disease. S**t gets real when you are in an MRI tube for an hour, being held in a halo that is screwed down and I can not move but am dealing with a migraine or muscle spasms and body parts trying to throw themselves. Party time. I usually begin crying, as I realize it is the one thing in my life that I can not “improve”. Then I get in trouble because the MRI tech sees the movement on their screen. I quickly think of something to make me smile or laugh… we all know that is music. I think about a rubber band banjo and funky band playing all the ridiculous noises that the MRI machine is making. This crazy brain of mine! No wonder they want images of it! Either way, I have been blessed to live the last 15 years of my life with MS and still get to do me!!! Most of the things I want to do, some I never knew I could do, and hey, I can’t run or go hiking, but let’s be honest, that was never for me! Let’s hope when I get my results there is no progression, I need everyone to say a prayer for me! I have a million more concerts I want to go to, more sports cars to buy, more puppies to adopt, more folks to assist on their beauty journey, more awards to win, hairfriends to mentor, more chapters to write in my book (if you know, you know!)

So, when your Dad turns 71 and you have really racked your brain to figure out what you could possibly buy the man that has everything and wants nothing, you pay attention to the little things…
He found out my friend’s hubby was a professional (and very talented!) Elvis and wouldn’t quit asking about it. So I said “what would you do if he just showed up one day?” He said “that would be really f’n cool!” Wish granted, Daddy! I bought you Elvis for your Birthday! Thank you to Sarah for putting together a party and my friends Shari and Leo for making this possible! And thank you to the amazing friends who showed up!
My Dad is so special to me and I’m so lucky to have him in my life!!! I am always trying to find ways to outdo myself to let him know… S**t! What on earth will I do next year?!?!?!?!
