Let’s talk about something the beauty industry doesn’t talk about enough…

HAVING W-2 EMPLOYEES.

I LOVE having a team. I love creating opportunities, watching women grow, and building something bigger than myself.

But let’s be real…

Having employees is EXPENSIVE. 😩 I wasn’t fully aware of this going into it, so I want y’all to do better than me. 💪🏿

And I’m not just talking about their paycheck.

Payroll taxes.
Workers’ comp.
Insurance.
Payroll processing.
Training.
Compliance.
And the responsibility that comes with having your business attached to the people working under your company. Whew!

I’ve hired many ppl over the course of my business.

Some experiences have been amazing.

Others taught me some very expensive lessons. 😂

But every person has taught me something about leadership, boundaries, communication and what it really means to build a team.

So this TEAM TUESDAY I chose to talk about the real side of team building, the good, the bad and the stuff nobody puts on the cute business owner checklist.
