Raven Family, have you ever stopped to think about the significance of the number THREE in the old Norse ways?

The number three appears in several important places throughout the Norse sources, connecting us to the mysteries of fate, the structure of the cosmos, and the powers that shaped the world.

🌿 The Three Norns — Urðr, Verðandi, and Skuld are associated with fate and the unfolding of what has been, what is becoming, and what lies ahead. They remind us that every moment is connected to the greater weaving of our lives.

🌳 The Three Roots of Yggdrasil — The great world-tree reaches into different realms through its roots, connecting the cosmos in ways far greater than any one of us can fully understand.

⚔️ Odin, Vili, and Vé — Three brothers who appear together in the Norse creation account, helping shape the world as we know it.

Three examples. Three connections to the stories passed down through the ages. Three reminders of the depth and complexity found within the old Norse sources.

While the Eddas don’t establish one universal meaning for the number three, its repeated appearance gives us plenty to reflect upon as we walk our own paths.

Today, we honor Odin, the Allfather — seeker of wisdom, keeper of hard-earned knowledge, and the wanderer who walks between worlds.

In the old Norse traditions, Odin is associated with the Wild Hunt, a fearsome spectral host said in later folklore to thunder across the skies and through the wild places, accompanied by the restless wind, the cries of ravens, and the pounding of hooves.

Imagine the darkened sky, the wind rising through the trees, ravens circling overhead, and the sound of riders moving through the mist. The Wild Hunt reminds us of the untamed power of the natural world and the mysteries that have stirred our ancestors’ imaginations for generations.

Odin teaches us that wisdom comes at a cost, that knowledge is worth seeking, and that the path to understanding is rarely an easy one. Sometimes we must wander into the unknown to discover what we were meant to learn.

Right?! 🖤✨ Sometimes it’s the simplest things that bring us the most comfort and a little bit of magic. A warm bowl of homemade soup on a cold morning is its own kind of healing magic. 🖤🍲🌿

I wish I could sink a little deeper into my robe, snuggle under my blanket, and have a complete lazy day on the couch with my fur babies. 🐾🖤 But this Witchy Mama has things to do.

Bella, Our youngest is trying out for wrestling, so she needs a physical. Ugh… yep, you heard that right! As much as I hate to do it, this Mama has to step foot into a doctor’s office. 😩😂 Send a little extra witchy strength my way. 🖤✨🔮

Well, this witch had a little breakfast plan that went right out the window! 😂🧙‍♀️

I ran out of my morning soup, and I don’t have all the ingredients to whip up another batch. And with it being so cold here in Ontario, Oregon, this witch needed something warm to put in her belly! 🥶🍲

So what’s on the breakfast menu this morning? CHICKEN SOUP! 🤣🖤

Forget the fancy potions for a minute, folks. Sometimes a witch has to work with what she’s got in her kitchen! Today’s magical brew is brought to you by chicken, carrots, celery, and the desperate need to warm these bones. 🔥🌿

Not every bit of kitchen magic needs to be complicated. Sometimes the best spell is a warm bowl of soup, a cozy blanket, and a slow morning. 🖤✨
