Our Lake Erie Photoshoot needed beachwaves for 18 girls and with only one MUA, the technique had to be EFFORTLESS! ❤️

So these soft, textured waves were created using a simple heatless technique, NO curling iron needed! Sometimes it’s not about having a ton of products, but knowing the right technique.

👑Let’s have a conversation

A thought for my fellow pageant judges… and this may be a little controversial.

Let’s talk about 10s.

Judging is SUBJECTIVE. We each bring our own experiences, perspectives, standards, and interpretations of a scoring rubric to the table.

And yes, this was my first time officially sitting on a judging panel.

But I’ve been involved in pageantry for 10+ years, as a contestant, pageant mom, and industry professional who has spent years helping contestants with public speaking, presentation, hair, makeup, confidence, and overall competitive presence.

So while judging was a new role for me, recognizing what makes a strong, well-prepared competitor is not.

Over the years, I’ve often heard judges say:

“I never give a 10 because no one is perfect and there is always room for improvement.”

I understand the reasoning behind that perspective. None of us are perfect, and there will always be opportunities to grow. At the same time, holding every contestant below a 10 simply because there is room for improvement can unintentionally make the top of the scale almost impossible to reach.

A 10 does not have to mean perfect, it can also mean outstanding.

If a scoring scale goes to 10, I believe there should be a meaningful reason for that number to exist.

Especially at the preliminary level, I don’t think the goal has to be finding someone who has nothing left to learn.

It’s about recognizing someone who is ready for the next level.

Judging is about evaluating what is presented in that moment, within that category, and at that level of competition.

✨Because improvement doesn’t erase excellence.

And scores aren’t just numbers.

For contestants, they’re feedback.
For directors, they’re information.
And they can help identify who is ready for the next step.

So to my fellow judges, whether you’re serving on a panel for the first time or have been doing this for years, I hope this encourages an open and positive conversation about using the scoring scale thoughtfully.

Don’t be afraid to use the 10 when it’s warranted. 👑

The goal isn’t to hand out 10s freely. It’s to use the entire scale intentionally and let each number reflect what you truly saw.

There is something so incredibly rewarding about serving as a People’s Choice Queen. ❤️

To be chosen by the people means your journey has connected with hearts, inspired others, and reminded someone that their voice matters. This title is more than a crown, it’s an opportunity to serve, represent, encourage, and make a difference.

A crown is never just about the title, it’s about the lives you touch, the example you set, and the way you choose to serve throughout your reign.

I am so proud to support a queen who continues to show up with grace, confidence, kindness, and purpose. Watching her grow, show up, represent her title, and continue to lead with grace has been such a beautiful reminder of what true queenhood looks like.

It was such an honor to host the Miss Northern International Global Queens! I absolutely love working with Director Ms. Stacey, who goes ABOVE and BEYOND for her queens!

Thank you for allowing me to spoil them like the royalty they are with a Royalty Trip filled with a Lake Erie beach photoshoot, food, bonfire, and a BIG gift bag customized with goodies just for each queen! NO ONE left empty handed, including the moms 😘👑✨

Also, these queens didn’t just come to be spoiled, they came ready to GIVE BACK! ❤️ The Global Queens brought in 100+ non-perishable items to donate to my community pantry box! What an incredible way to use their platform to make a difference in the community. 👑🫶
