Don’t even have to go heavy with the weights and be like 🥴
I grew up watching my mother make many sacrifices to ensure my siblings and I were provided for. Yet watching my her put herself on the back burner for us growing up always made me concerned of her health because I could see the tear and wear the stress was causing on her body. So when I saw the transformation I was able help my mother make via exercising and eating better, it gave me a sense of purpose when at the time I didn’t have any. I knew I wanted to help others achieve the same thing. My fitness journey started out for vanity purposes but at that time helping the most important woman in my life sparked something in me and that sense of purpose I got from helping her I wanted to feel that moving forward. Helping people lead healthier lives is my passion, and I’m grateful to be able to do what I enjoy everyday. Shoutout 🤘🏽 for having me on the podcast not long ago and giving me the opportunity to share a little bit of my story.
They need to bring back the grilled chicken items. Where would you like to see me go to next ? 🤔
Does beating yourself up every time you “fall off track” for having something you crave outside of your rigid diet really sound “healthy”? Healthy eating isn’t an elimination diet. Our health is more than a single food item or meal. Healthy eating doesn’t have to be overly rigid. Cutting out all the foods you enjoy for the sake of losing weight or dropping body fat sounds like prison… and I’m sure it feels that way too…. that’s why you can’t stick with it for very long. You can eat “healthy” without feeling like you can never enjoy your favorite foods again. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take into account how calorie dense some of your foods are.. This means that the vast majority of your plan could comprise of foods that heal you. Nutrition dense foods that are minimally processed…. and on occasion, not so nutrition dense foods. For me, that’s Reese’s, I’ll f**k about 10 in one sitting. And if one day you enjoy more of the latter than you do the former no reason to beat yourself up because you didn’t ruin anything. Just get back on track and remember the goal is more days that are optimal than not.
Even when it feels like the results aren’t happening as fast as you’d like, keep up the momentum. Persistence and consistency always win. Let’s get it after it this Monday 👊🏽⚡️
Celebrating small wins triggers feelings of accomplishment and pride. All too often I see people set these lofty goals and get discouraged due to the fixation of the end result. Dismissing the progress they’ve made up to this point as “not enough.” For example. If you want to lose 20 lbs. Instead of focusing solely on 20, focus on the next 2. This helps to keep working towards the next small steps (another 2 lbs) and eventually the overall goal. We can break this down even further by saying instead of focusing on the lbs lost, focus on maybe how much more water you’ve been drinking, how much healthier you’re eating, etc… Gas yourself for drinking a glass of water before coffee… Gas yourself up when you got ya ass up out the bed to hit that morning workout. It’s small, but it’s progress. It’ll help you build momentum. That’s the key. Celebrate that s**t.
