Seneca reminds us that much of our suffering is self-created. When we fear things that have not yet happened, we live the pain twice—once in imagination and once in reality, if it ever comes. By staying in the present, we preserve our strength for real challenges instead of wasting it on shadows. Peace begins when we stop borrowing trouble from the future.
