This is the oddest thing. I find pricing during restaurant week is higher than specials throughout the year at the very same restaurants.
Real question: Is Restaurant week a fundraiser for restaurants to make more money and sell based on a marketing gimmick, or a special priced (lower) PR campaign to get diners out to the restaurants to experience their food, service, and location?
I'm guessing if prices are higher the second question I stated may not be the primary objective.

There is bubbles coming out from the unit. It means there is gas (oxygen?) being released from unit. How much air does the parrot have before it suffacates?
Most people buy their pets new toys.
Steven Lawyer built his parrot a submarine.
Bebe, a white-winged parakeet, has become known for having one of the most unusual adventure-filled lives a pet bird could imagine. Instead of leaving Bebe behind during trips, Steven and his wife Cher have spent years creating ways for their feathered companion to safely join them.
The most unusual invention came when the couple planned a scuba diving trip to the Bahamas. They decided Bebe should experience the underwater world too.
Steven designed and built a small transparent submarine specifically for the bird. The custom vessel was made from a clear container and equipped with an air system, a one-way valve, weights for balance, and an oxygen monitor with an alarm system. Before taking it into open water, Steven and Cher carefully tested the setup, including a trial with Bebe at home.
After the safety checks were complete, Bebe joined them beneath the surface during their Bahamas adventure.
But underwater exploration was only one chapter of this parrot's unusual story.
Bebe has also gone skydiving multiple times. During jumps, Steven uses a small protective bubble attached to his body. Bebe enters it voluntarily before the jump, and during the descent the bird can fly alongside the parachute before returning toward the landing area.
The story of Bebe and his owners is not just about unusual adventures.
It shows the unique bond between humans and animals, and the creativity some people use to include their pets in the experiences they love.
For most parrots, life means flying around the house and playing with toys.
For Bebe, life has included oceans, skies, and adventures far beyond an ordinary cage.

You would hope someone in kind, does it for our National Parks, now that this wayward administration has opened up public lands for greedy opportunists to r**e, pillage and commercially build on once protected federal lands, as John Muir, as well as Teddy Roosevelt and Presidents following him have traditionally stewarded.
The land came first. The son came after. And the whole thing started with a movie shoot.
Angelina Jolie went to Cambodia in 2000 to film Tomb Raider and found a country still bleeding from decades of war, landmines, and poverty. She came back changed. She adopted her first child, Maddox, from an orphanage there in 2002, and in 2003 founded the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, named after him.
The foundation focused on Samlout in Battambang province, near the Thai border, an area of roughly 60,000 hectares that had been battered by illegal logging and hunting. It was one of the last strongholds of the Khmer Rouge, and when the fighting ended, the forest became a free-for-all. Wildlife was trapped and sold. Trees came down. People had almost no other way to make a living.
Buying land in Cambodia is not straightforward for foreigners, and the accurate version is that the foundation worked with the Cambodian government to fund and manage conservation across that area rather than simply purchasing it outright. The distinction matters, and it also explains why the model worked.
Because the foundation did not just fence off a forest. It hired former poachers as rangers. It built schools and clinics, trained farmers, developed sustainable livelihoods, and cleared landmines from the ground. The logic is simple and often ignored: nobody protects a forest that is starving them.
Jolie was later made an honorary citizen of Cambodia for the work. She has kept returning for over two decades, long after cameras stopped covering it.
The area today shelters elephants, gibbons, and species that had been vanishing from the region. Poaching pressure fell not because someone banned it, but because the people who once did it had a better option.
Conservation is usually framed as protecting nature from people. The stories that actually work tend to look like this one instead.
Should more conservation money go into paying local people to protect land, rather than into fences and enforcement?

Good vibes and the manifest of an introvert
Introverts don't hate people; they hate drama.
Stress.
S**t that lowers their vibe.
That's why they avoid arguments.
That's why they avoid conflicts.
That's why they keep their lives private.
They're simple people.
People of the soul.
All they want is love, peace, and good vibes.

I heard a wise quote years ago: "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear."
Too often when mired in sense of loss or meandering happlessness the shadows seem to grow longer as the twilight descends upon our hopes and dreams.
It is when we deny surrender to hopelessness and rise above the waters we drown ourselves in that we conquer our demons that feed off our fears and insecurities.
I challenge you to do more than you ever thought possible, and especially if in your darkest hour of need and despair to find the hope and promise of tomorrow that will prevail because what you need is already within you ... now!
