The best lessons taught at Summit Barber Academy aren't always about clippers and shears. For a long time, we had the absolute privilege of welcoming a sweet, elderly lady into our academy every single week, brought in by her devoted son, Brett, for her weekly wash.What started as a routine soon became the highlight of our week. Our students quickly bonded with her, learning to be gentle not just with her hair, but with her spirit. She brought so much joy, wisdom, and laughter into the shop, reminding us all that doing hair is deeply about human connection and making people feel cared for.When the time came for her final appointment with us, the students banded together and threw her a farewell party which included her favorites, coffee and cake.It was the perfect send-off. Thank you to her amazing son for trusting us to care for her, and to our students for showing what real empathy looks like. Kathy, we are going to miss you! Enjoy Tahoe!!
