This is a rule I live by as a fitness & hormone coach.
Not working out right now?
Don't try to workout 5 days a week.
Barely getting 1k steps a day?
Don't shoot for 10k tomorrow.
Not eating healthy?
Don't cut out all sugar, carbs, fat, and fun next week.
👇👇👇
AKA: Don't fix an extreme with another extreme.
You will be far more successful in your health journey if, instead, you prioritize small, sustainable changes.
I talked all about why is approach works and how to do it on the Salad With a Side of Fries 🥗🍟 this week.

Where are my fellow overachievers at?
You need to listen to the podcast I did with AHP w Sara Banta last week.
We talked all about how stress is affecting your body & how to intentionally slow down (without feeling like you're failing).
Plus there are so many other gems in the episode, like:
▪︎ How protein impacts your hormones
▪︎ Why stress is so sneaking
▪︎ What are the stressors you can and can't do anything about

Can I offer you a different way to think about your body? 💡👇
If you’ve ever felt like your body is actively working against you...
I get it.
You wake up exhausted.
You eat well, but the scale won't budge.
You work out consistently, but see no changes.
Then you leave another doctor's office hearing "everything looks normal," wondering if it’s all in your head. 🙈
It’s so easy to feel frustrated with all of this.
To feel like your body is failing you.
⚠️ But what if your body has actually been trying to HELP you this whole time?
Think about it...
When you’re sick, your body forces you to slow down and rest.
It doesn't do that to punish you... It does it to protect you.
Chronic stress works the exact same way.
When your system is overwhelmed by poor sleep, years of dieting, overtraining, or hormone shifts, it adapts. It conserves energy. It holds on tighter.
From the outside, it feels like nothing is working.
From the inside, your body is doing exactly what it was designed to do.
Your body isn't failing.
🗣️ It’s communicating.
You don’t need more restriction or punishment.
📢 You just need to learn how to listen.
Once you do, everything changes.
💬 Let’s talk in the comments: Have you ever felt like your body was working against you?

Okay let's talk about cortisol real quick.
Because I don't know about you... but there is a huge battle happening on my Instagram about it.
Half of my feed is people saying that cortisol is bad and it's keeping you fat.
The other half is yelling at those people and advocating for why spiking your cortisol during workouts is a good thing.
Respectfully, both sides need to calm down.
🤣😅
Cortisol is not bad.
We need it to survive.
And it should rise and lower throughout the day.
Exercise is a stressor, so it does spike your cortisol.
Highly intense workouts will spike your cortisol more.
The fact that that happens isn't bad.
However!
If your cortisol is out of whack... you have to adjust your lifestyle to support it.
You can't just go about your normal routine.
The most important changes in your lifestyle are going to be simple ones.
Like slowing down, breathing, sleeping...
But your workouts and nutrition may need to change for a bit too (not forever).
You may need less intensity.
You may need more of certain vitamins & minerals.
You may need more calories.
It's okay to adjust those things to support your stress hormones.
So...
Should you stop exercising if cortisol is high?
No.
Should you keep doing your exact routine?
Also no.
This is what I specialize in as a coach: helping my clients adjust their lifestyle for their stress & hormones.
So if you need some guidance around this topic...

Juggling running a business with getting a new degree is no joke y'all 🫠
Sorry I have been so inconsistent with posting on here.
As an apology here is one old picture and 2 recent ones (I love that pic of DTLA I took)
Unfortunately, social media had dropped to the bottom of my priority list lately... 🙈
I have been struggling to navigate how to do it all.
The funny thing is, this is why I work 1x1 with my clients.
Many of them get overwhelmed with everything they have on their to-do list that their health stops being a priority.
🙌 I help them make it a priority without it becoming time consuming.
I connect the dots while they continue living their life.
I give them structure and habits to build in a way that does not disrupt the flow of their life.
A lot of my clients stick with 1x1 coaching program because they "don't want to think" about what workout to do and how to tweak their lifestyle for their hormones...
And they like how I make it simple for them.
It's so funny that I now have a similar problem just with a different aspect of my life.
Life happens and things get neglected.
That is always going to happen.
I exist as a coach if your health is getting neglected

Chatted with BIOptimizers on the Awesome Health Podcast last week all about STRESS.
▪︎ How stress interrupts fat loss
▪︎ What stresses out your body the most
▪︎ And what the heck to do about it
