Hi my name is Michelle im about to be 57 nx month i am a stroke survivor since 2020 it affected my left side but I've been in and outta therapy for 6 years and I hold it down,separated, no kids but I live alone and I take care of me bc quitters never win,and winners never quit.

My name is Albert. I’m 57 and a stroke survivor since 2022. It affected my left side mostly. I’ve been in and out of therapy. My doctors say I’m fortunate to not have more damage. I’m just looking for support folks and a community. It’s hard to do this alone

I’m back to work 💪

3 years ago I had a stroke.
Doctors weren’t sure what my future would look like.

Today, by God’s grace:
✅ I can walk
✅ I can drive 26km to work and 26km back home every day
✅ I can even run

Recovery is not easy. But it’s possible. One day at a time.

Hi!
Im a 31 year old mom of 3 little ones. I had a stroke last Saturday. My left side has limited mobility so I struggle to do mom responsibilities. My kiddos are 9,3 and 1 so they require a lot of hands on help.

My husband is military so we don’t have family support around or willing to travel to us. Heck, we have a meal train set up only had 2 people sign up one of which backed out. So doing this pretty independently.

If anyone has gone through this in this stage of life, how did you deal with the mental stress of the guilt of not being able to support your family?

I’m working with PT and OT 3x a week each to gain back strength.

I just want to pick up and carry my babies 😭

Edited to say: for those wondering- this picture is pre stroke when my husband and I went on our first kid free vacation.

Day 10 living on my own after 2 1/2 years of hospitalization and rehab facilities: made my favorite breakfast! Only one glitch, I broke the glass coffee pot when it fell off the counter, glass everywhere and I’m barefoot. Trying to walk barefoot more at home to get used to it as I normally wear a brace and use my cane. Was able to sweep it up one handed without stepping on any glass, lol. I’m loving my new independence, even when things don’t go my way! Have a great day everyone and keep on going!
