Equinox Blessings🕊️

The Fall Equinox marks a transitional shift in seasons, but it’s also a midpoint between lightness and dark, yang and yin.☯️☸️A time to harvest the abundance of Summer, and digest our experiences, lessons, relationships and everything summer has brought with it.

And now, at this threshold between Earth ( Late Summer) and Metal ( Fall ), we’re invited to pause and reflect:

What are we ready to harvest + release?🍂

What’s been nourishing your heart and body this Summer? What has been difficult to digest, and something you’re still processing? And what are you ready to release that you no longer need to carry?

Take time to reflect- no need to rush.

Happy Fall~ing friends🤎🌾

Hey folks!🤍

I’ll be hosting a Community Acupuncture Session next Sunday September 26th, 530 pm Enjoy Yoga 🕊️

A perfect way to wind down from Summer’s activities and reset as we transition into the new szn ahead.

We’ll start with guided movements to settle into our bodies. Everyone will receive select acupuncture points to support stress recovery & neuro regulation while bathed in a beautiful playlist of sounds to calm and settle the mind and senses.

Receiving acupuncture in a group setting creates a sense of connection and collective healing—reminding us that wellness doesn’t have to be a solo journey. The relaxed, quiet atmosphere allows your body to deeply rest, reduce stress, and restore balance, while the supportive energy of the group can enhance the overall experience.

I look forward to serving you!

Things I wish I started doing when I was 25…and what I’m doing now to protect my skin! Wish I started sooner 😅😭🫠

1) Wear sunscreen! It’s the number one way of protecting your skin against the sun. Also wear it when indoors and driving- yes sunlight goes through the windows!

2) Wear a hat or get yourself a cute parasol. Sunscreen isn’t enough.

3) If you do want to go in the sun, go when the sun index is 2 and below. Or go hang out in the shade like I do.

4) Wear protective sun gear-when driving, wear gloves and cover up those arms! That’s when you know you’ve graduated to Korean auntie status!

5) Prioritize Sleep: It’s nature’s best medicine-for literally everything including vibrant looking skin. There’s no amount of serum or whatever expensive cream you’re using that will replace a good night’s rest.

6) Microneedling and cosmetic acupuncture supports collagen growth factors. Also tense facial muscles can change the shape of your face! It’s all about bringing more qi and blood to the face, not less ( as botox does)

Gua Sha & Acupressure for the Sinuses & the Eyes🕊️

I’ve been dealing with serious allergies recently resulting in all sorts of sinus & eyes issues. So I’ve been using my neti pot to irrigate my sinuses and soothe them a bit. I’m trying to reduce anything inflammatory to my system & getting a lot of sleep which has been helping. I’ve also been doing a lot of self massage and acupuncture- and it’s been helping so much!

So I wanted to share with you this lovely set up acupressure points you can easily do at home for eye strain, pain, allergies, twitching of the eyelids, and also to support sinus/allergy issues in general.

If you don’t have a gua sha tool, no stress- use your fingers. Works just as well. Spend at least 3 cycles of breath per acupressure point and enjoy!

Feeling Bloated, Foggy Brain, Fatigued, Unmotivated or dealing with Loose Stools?

In TCM, we call this dampness. We are in the midst of a transition and late Summer is about supporting the spleen & digestive system, reducing excess dampness, and creating a sense of grounded balance before Autumn begins.

Simple Tips to Optimize Digestion in Late Summer~

➡️Limit:Cold/raw foods, iced drinks, AC blasting, dairy, greasy foods, and excessive sugar, which TCM associates with digestive sluggishness and “dampness.”

➡️Favor: warm, cooked foods such as sweet potatoes, squash, millet, mung beans, grains during this transitional time.🤍🤍🤍

I love receiving texts from my patients reporting back how much better they feel and how quick their recovery has been from their acupuncture treatments.

Here are a few messages I’ve received recently from my patients!

Thank you always for your trust🙏🏼🫶🏼🤍✨It’s a joy to do what I love- so grateful🥰

Perimenopause can start earlier than you think.

For some women, subtle hormonal changes can begin in the mid-to-late 30s—long before periods stop.

You may notice things like:

• Changes in your menstrual cycle
• PMS becoming more intense
• Heavier or lighter periods
• Sleep changes or waking during the night
• Anxiety, irritability, or mood shifts
• Hot flashes or feeling unusually warm
• Brain fog or difficulty concentrating ( apparently can be worse for folks with ADHD)
• Fatigue or changes in energy
• Changes in libido
• New or increased bloating
• Difficulty maintaining your usual weight
• Thinning / Shedding hair more than normal

These changes can feel confusing, especially when you’re told everything is “normal.”

So…what is perimenopause?

Perimenopause is the transition toward menopause, when hormone levels and menstrual patterns begin to change.

And it doesn’t necessarily begin when your period becomes irregular.

For some women, subtle changes may appear years earlier.

🌿 This is where Chinese medicine may offer support.

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective, symptoms are looked at as part of a larger pattern rather than as isolated problems. In my practice, I use acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, and lifestyle recommendations to support your body through hormonal transitions. I’m not opposed to and also advocate for HRT and other therapies if necessary.

The goal isn’t to “stop” aging or eliminate every symptom—it’s to help you feel more balanced, supported, and at home in your changing body.

Your symptoms are information. Your body is communicating.

If you’ve noticed changes in your cycle, sleep, mood, or energy and you’re wondering whether they could be connected to perimenopause, it may be worth starting the conversation. 🌸
