Let's talk about hyperpigmentation!

Hyperpigmentation is caused by a variety of different issues.

*Melasma is usually present on the face and caused by hormones and the sun. Typically in women during and after birth. This can be difficult to address due to it being caused mainly by hormones.

*Post Inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) is caused by acne, trauma, and rashes.

*Sun spots from repeated sun exposure.

This client came in about 9 months ago to address acne on her back and her hyperpigmentation. With HP we always need to realize it is a slow process of lightening especially in clients with melanated skin. If we do aggressive treatments it can cause worse HP.

We did a total of 5 peels on her back in order to help with her breakouts and HP. Of course my client did her at home maintenance of exfoliating and not picking her acne. We are very happy with these results so far!
