Cherry Blossoms
Designs by Cherry Guidry
Under the needle this week…
A little cutting, a little quilting, and a whole lot of fun...
It may not look like much just yet, but I promise it’s turning into something very useful!!
Can you guess what this will be?
Drop your best guess in the comments… I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
And tell me, what’s under your needle this week?
Happy Cat Day!
Here's to all the curious kitties who keep a watchful eye on every stitch.
After all, no quilt is complete until it's been kitty approved!!!
Does your kitty help in the sewing room? I'd love to see a pic!!
Has your sewing room started to wonder where you've been?
Your fabric is patiently waiting, your sewing machine is ready, and that precious UFO would love a little attention!
Sneak away for a few minutes, you wouldn't want your happy place to get lonely, right?
What are you working on?
Hello, sweet friends, I'm so excited to share some fun news!
I've teamed up with Purple Moose Designs, Tamarinis, and Swan Amity Studios to create The Curious Quilt Society!
We're already putting the finishing touches on our first fall program, and it's almost ready. Can't wait to share it with you!
We'd love for you to join The Curious Quilt Society Facebook group and be part of our very first adventure.

Done! Did you guess? It's a giant quilted bow, designed by Lindsey Grace, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
The flag design was inspired by a flag bow Lindsey shared on her IG. I used the red, white, and blue prints from my Awakening fabric collection for Riley Blake Designs, making it the perfect addition to my summer décor. It came together so quickly... it was one of those projects that's just plain fun to make!
Thanks for following along with this little Under the Needle project.
Now it's your turn...
What's under your needle today? Are you quilting, stitching, embroidering, or starting something brand new? I'd love to hear what you're working on!
It turns out quilting is more than just making beautiful quilts.
Choosing fabrics, matching points, solving little design puzzles, and learning new techniques all give your brain a healthy workout. Add the friendships made along the way, and you've got one pretty amazing hobby.
Looks like every quilt is good for the heart and the mind.
What are you quilting today?
Laundry will still be there tomorrow... but that project you've been so excited to make is waiting for you!!! Yes, you have my permission to make that laundry wait, haha! So head on to your sewing room, and enjoy a little stitchy time, it will do wonders!.

What's Under the Needle?
Here's a little peek at what's keeping me busy in the studio today!
I've been stitching away on a cute little project! I just love this stage... a stack of fabric turning into something fun!
Any guesses what I'm making?
Here are a few clues:
As you can see, it's easy, fast piecing!
It has a patriotic color palette.
Will be perfect for displaying all summer long!
Can you guess in the comments? I’d love to see who figures it out first!
Now it's your turn...
What’s under your needle today?
Quilting, stitching, embroidering, knitting, crocheting, or finishing a UFO?
I'd love to hear what you're working on.

Today is the last day to download the FREE Home of the Free wool appliqué pattern!
This design was inspired by one of my patriotic cross-stitch designs that I loved so much I just had to recreate it in wool. While a few details were adapted, it's essentially the same design in a new medium.
Don't miss your chance to download the free pattern before the offer ends! Wool kits and the unfinished wooden scallop display board are also available on my website: CherryBlossomsQuilting.com

Celebrate 250 years of American history with Home of the Free, a special wool appliqué project I designed for the Woolie Friends Wool & Freedom Stitch Along.
This patriotic design features a welcoming cottage adorned with an American flag, festive fireworks, tiny blossoms, and a tiny quilt.
Created to commemorate America's 250th Anniversary (1776–2026), this design is a heartfelt tribute to the freedoms we enjoy and to the courageous men and women who fought to secure and protect them.
The pattern is available as a FREE download for five days (June 21-26, 2026). After the promotional period, the pattern will be available for purchase.
