Thank you all for supporting everything we do!!!!

(We suspect some of our bee clients had a hand in this too).

We appreciate you all! ❤️

Well, this was a pretty incredible surprise. ❤️

We just found out that Connell’s Freedom Farms Construction was nominated for Best Home Repair/Remodeling Company in the 2026 Best of Twin Tiers Community’s Choice Awards.

We didn’t know we had been nominated. We didn’t ask for nominations. We were simply doing what we do every day.

Knowing that our clients and community took the time to put our name forward means more to us than we can say.

We are incredibly grateful to every person who nominated our small family business and continues to trust us with their homes.

Thank you. Truly. ❤️

Voting begins October 9, and we’ll share the details when it opens.

For now, we’re just incredibly grateful to have been nominated. ❤️

A Yellowjacket colony made their way under the front steps and found a small hole to gain access to a basement bedroom! Colony removed, spray foam installed, hole sealed…. We hope our clients can sleep well tonight knowing they will no longer wake up to unwelcomed visitors!

🥚 Egg Carton SOS! 🥚

Apparently our egg cartons have decided they’re collectibles. 😂

We are running VERY low on cartons, so before we bite the bullet and order another mountain of them, we figured we’d ask.

If you have any Connell’s Freedom Farms egg cartons hanging around, whether they’re stamped, engraved, or any variation we’ve sent out over the years, we’ll happily take them back and reuse them as long as they’re clean!

No pressure whatsoever because we fully understand that remembering to return an egg carton ranks somewhere around #847 on the life to-do list. 😂

But if you have a stack of ours collecting dust, we want ’em!

Thank you from us, the chickens, and our rapidly dwindling carton supply. 🐓🥚

Went to go assess a Yellowjacket issue today……

Stay tuned for how it goes tomorrow…..

Any bets?

** Biggest, second biggest, top 5, top 10, just your average colony…… small- no big deal….

Removal is happening tomorrow!

It’s been a Yellowjacket filled weekend!

🐝 Yellowjacket fun fact!

It may be September, but Yellowjacket colonies are at or near their peak size right now, and they’re still busy expanding their nests and building new comb.

Why keep building when nearly the entire colony will die with the hard freezes? Because this is their final reproductive push. Right now, established colonies are producing the new queens that will mate, overwinter and start brand-new colonies next spring.

The workers, males and original queen will die off, and the nest will be abandoned. Only those newly produced queens carry the cycle into next year.

Which means when we eliminate an active Yellowjacket colony this time of year, we aren’t just taking care of this year’s unwanted houseguests. We’re potentially preventing a whole lot of next year’s invaders too. 🐝

All that impressive late-season construction isn’t built to survive winter. It’s built to create the queens that will.
