Let’s talk about relationships for a minute. 👀
We hear a lot about 'red flags'—and yes, we need to pay attention to them. But how often do we recognize 'healing moments'?
Those quiet moments where a partner responds with patience instead of anger, or where you feel safe enough to be completely honest about your boundaries.
What’s a green flag or healing moment you didn’t appreciate until you got older? Drop your thoughts below—let’s talk about it. ❤️

Vaginal Dryness: Why Is This Happening? 👀
It’s not always about arousal.

🚨 LET’S TALK ABOUT CHILD SUPPORT… AND SOME OF Y’ALL ARE NOT GOING TO LIKE MY OPINION. 👀
Every man is NOT a deadbeat father.
Every woman is NOT a good mother.
And vice versa.
There. I said it.
And before somebody comes arguing with me, understand that I’m speaking from MY OWN EXPERIENCE as a mother who had children by two different men and handled child support two completely different ways.
I had my first child at 19. Her father was 16 years older than me.
Yes… do the math. 😩
When the subject of child support came up, he told me plainly:
“If you put me on child support, that’s it.”
His exact issue was that he didn’t want “them white people in his business.”
Now here comes my mama. 😂❤️ Rest in love to my girl. 9/17/2021. 💔
My mama had never been in my situation. She and my daddy were married and stayed married until the day she left this earth.
But being young, I listened to Mama.
She told me to put that man on child support.
So I did.
And looking back, one thing I learned is sometimes you have to be careful taking relationship advice from someone who has never actually been in the situation you’re dealing with.
Sorry, Mama. 😂❤️
Because before child support, my child and I were receiving MORE from her father voluntarily than the court eventually ordered him to pay.
The order?
$275 a month.
But here’s the part people don’t understand.
Once I put him on child support, my child went YEARS without receiving financial support from her father.
Years.
And it took YEARS before those payments even became consistent.
So while everybody loves to scream, “PUT HIM ON CHILD SUPPORT!”
Let me ask you something:
What happens when the child-support system actually leaves the child receiving LESS?
Fast-forward.
By the time payments started coming, I had four children. And when that child-support card came, I gave it to my children.
All four.
I didn't look at it like, “This money belongs only to these two because they have this father.”
Those were MY CHILDREN.
If there was money available for food, clothes, something they needed or something they wanted, they shared it.
Now my daughters are 29 and 28.
And believe it or not, payments are STILL coming.
They have only really been consistent for about the last two years.
So what do I do with it now?
I pay a credit-card bill.
Health insurance.
Food.
Things my children need.
And although the payment technically comes because of one child, all five of mine benefit from that $300 when it comes in.
Because that's how I have always been.
Now let me tell y’all about Baby Daddy #2.
And baby… before anything went left, let me give that man his flowers.
🏆 FATHER OF THE YEAR.
When my son was 9 months old, I moved.
And this man didn't just take responsibility for his biological children.
He took responsibility for ALL FOUR OF MY CHILDREN.
If he bought Pampers for one?
He bought Pampers for two.
Pull-Ups.
Panties.
Wipes.
Everything was bought by the MONTH.
If he took one child somewhere?
ALL FOUR went.
There was never:
“This one mine.”
“That one ain't mine.”
He treated them like a package deal.
So later, when I received a letter telling me to appear in court for child support, I called him.
Because I was confused. 🤔
I asked:
“So what are we doing here?”
He said we could handle support outside of DHS.
And because of the father I had watched him be, I agreed.
We still went to court.
They called:
“Kimberly Glover.”
I walked up to that table and told the woman:
“I don't want to pursue child support through DHS. I don't want them pennies.” 😭😂
She asked whether I received assistance.
I said:
“No ma’am, I do not. I go to work to provide for mine.”
Then she asked me AGAIN if I was sure I wasn't receiving assistance.
Baby…
The LOOK I gave that woman. 😭😂
If she could've heard the conversation I was having with her inside my head…
She went to the back, came out and said:
“Oh, you don't receive assistance. CASE DISMISSED.”
I thought I had done that man a FAVOR.
He hadn't been out of prison very long and didn't have a job.
When we walked outside, do you know this man told me:
“You embarrassed me in there talking about you don't want them pennies.”
😂😂😂
Sir, I thought I was HELPING YOU!
I told him when I got back to the city I was living in, I would have the attorney I worked for draw up an agreement.
I asked:
“How much can you afford to pay?”
He asked:
“How much do you want?”
And my response was:
“YOU tell ME what YOU can afford.”
I walked away saying:
“Let me know when you have an amount.”
And I didn't look back.
I also didn't expect anything.
And baby…
I was right.
I never received one child-support payment from him.
Not one.
Years later, once our son became incarcerated in 2022, his father started financially helping his grown children when they called him and needed something.
And that brings me to the entire reason for this post.
CHILD SUPPORT IS NOT AS BLACK AND WHITE AS SOCIAL MEDIA MAKES IT.
Sometimes a father can be on child support and still be an amazing father.
Sometimes a man can pay every single month and barely know his child.
Sometimes a father can financially support his child without one court order ever existing.
And sometimes you can trust somebody to “do the right thing” outside of court…
and find out years later that paperwork might have protected your child better than a handshake and a conversation.
Likewise, every woman filing child support isn't bitter.
And every woman who chooses not to file isn't stupid.
Sometimes we're making the best decision we know how to make with the information, circumstances and relationship we have at that moment.
Would I make every decision the same way today at almost 50 that I made at 19, 20 or 25?
HELL NO. 😂
Life taught me some things.
But here's the conversation I really want us to have:
🤔 If a father is already actively parenting and financially supporting his child, should the courts automatically get involved?
🤔 If parents make an agreement outside of court, should they still put it in writing legally?
🤔 And mothers—if you knew then what you know now, would you have handled child support differently?
Because one thing life has taught me:
Being on child support does not make a man a father.
Not being on child support does not make him a good one either.
The ORDER and the PARENT are two completely different things. 🎯
Now talk to me… 👀🍿
No bashing mothers. No bashing fathers. I want an ADULT conversation based on real-life experiences.
