Twelve years ago, I started dating this guy I met in class at UNK.
Today we celebrate the BIRTHDAY of our family.

In ten days we celebrate eleven years of being married, but for some reason, our dating anniversary has always been more important to me.

Because the day he walked into the coffee shop for our first date, I knew.

Someone asked me “who’s that??” When they saw him.

And I smiled and said, “he’s here for me.”

And he has been every. Single. Day. Since.

Twelve years ago we started building our family, and we’ve watched it blossom and grow into what it is today. I could not feel more blessed than I do knowing this guy is MINE, and the only people I have to share him with are our kids.

That’s a pretty great life to me.

Small and odd menu this week due to a very short time frame to bake.

Moving to Kearney has been INSANE!
Last week I spent the majority of the week at the hospital in Kansas with someone very dear to me who was in ROUGH condition.

Life has been unpleasant and hard and demanding and we are exhausted. But we’re *mostly* excited to be back to baking. 😂

We cannot wait to see you guys at the bake sale TOMORROW at The Golden Spoon Scoop Shop from 3-7pm 💕 help us spread the word to not make this bake sale a bust!

One of the distinctive things about Simchat Torah is that the Torah is celebrated collectively.

Traditionally:

* Torah scrolls are removed from the ark.
* People dance with them.
* There are songs and singing.
* Children participate.
* The final Torah portion is read.
* Then Genesis begins immediately.
