LEVONAH & SPRIG will be at Fayetteville Community Church’s Car & Truck Show & Craft Fair tomorrow, Saturday, September 26, from 9 AM–3 PM.

We’ll be bringing along some of the products that have become favorites at our fall markets, including our Frankincense Resin Tallow Balms, Herbal Itch Support Balm Sticks, Baby Bottom Balm, Wander Aromatic Outdoor Oil, and Vanilla Tallow Lip Balm.
If you’ve been curious about LEVONAH & SPRIG, this is a great chance to stop by, see everything in person, feel the textures, ask me all your ingredient questions, and say hello. 😊
And there’s plenty going on beyond the vendor tables. The event includes a Car & Truck Show and Craft Fair, with cars, trucks and motorcycles welcome, plus shopping, food, sweet treats, music, trophies, a bake sale, and family fun.

And apparently lunch is handled too. 😆 They’ll have a $10 Boston Butt Combo with a Boston butt sandwich, chips and a drink.

Most of my products weren’t created because I sat down and thought, “What can I sell?” They were created because someone I love needed something.

This one was made for my grandchildren. 🤍

I wanted a baby balm with a short, simple ingredient list that I actually felt good about using on delicate skin. So I made one with just four ingredients:

Tallow • Calendula • Chamomile • Vanilla Bean

That little family-made formula became Levonah & Sprig Baby Bottom Balm.

Simple. Small batch. Made with intention. Because sometimes the best products start at home.

There was apparently a very long stretch of time where I was doing all the pouring, reheating, hot water setups and general balm-making acrobatics before I finally asked myself:

"Why do I not own a hot plate?"🤯

Because nothing says "small-batch skincare" like trying to keep everything melted while pouring, realizing it's thickening again, reheating it, and then repeating that entire cycle more times than should be necessary.

So yes, I finally got a Hamilton Beach hot plate, and honestly it feels little ridiculous that it took me this long to connect the dots.

It's one of those small business moments where the solution seems painfully obvious...but only after you've done something the hard way approximately 47 times.😆

Small-batch reality: sometimes product development is the easy part.

Sometimes the breakthrough is realizing you need better equipment.

I wanted something for those moments when your skin is just iTchY!😵‍💫

But not something you have to scoop out of a jar with your fingers after you just touched 3 door handles, a grocery cart, and a leaky meat tray from the grocery store.

So I made it a stick.

The Herbal Itch Support Balm stick starts with tallow and jojoba infused with plantain leaf and calendula, then gets formulated with beeswax, vitamin E, and bisabolol into a solid balm you can swipe directly onto the skin.

Swipe, cap, done.

This is one of my favorite kinds of products to create: start with a real-life problem, research the ingredients, think through the format, test it, adjust it, and eventually end up with something that earns a permanent spot in my bag.
