Pregnancy doesn’t mean you have to stop moving — it just means your body may need to move a little differently. 💚

✨ Mobility work + exercise during pregnancy can help you:
• Keep your hips, pelvis & back moving well
• Reduce those everyday pregnancy aches
• Stay strong for birth and recovery
• Feel more comfortable in your changing body
• Prepare your body for the physical demands of labor + motherhood

And it doesn’t have to be complicated!

Sometimes it’s as simple as the right stretches, mobility exercises, breathing, strength work, and learning how to work WITH your changing body.

At Nurturing Mama, we can help you figure out what movements make sense for your body, your pregnancy, and your goals.

🤰 Move well. Feel strong. Prepare with confidence.

Join us for an upcoming pregnancy education + exercise/mobility class (Beyond the Bump).

PELVIC PRESSURE/BELLY BLOATING? IT MAY BE CONGESTION.

That heavy, achy, full feeling in your pelvis can sometimes be related to blood flow and fluid not moving as efficiently as they should.

You may notice:
✨ Pelvic heaviness or pressure
✨ Aching in your hips or low back
✨ Swelling or fullness in your abdomen or pelvis
✨ Discomfort with standing or s*x

At Nurturing Mama, we use lymphatic drainage + vascular release work to help decrease congestion, improve circulation, and get things moving.

Sometimes your pelvis just needs a little help moving things along. 💚

Feeling heavy, full, or “stuck”? Let’s talk.

🤱 Painful breasts while nursing? You don’t have to just tough it out.

Physical therapy can help with clogged ducts, swelling, inflammation, and those aches that make nursing uncomfortable.

At Nurturing Mama, we may use:
✨ Lymphatic drainage
✨ Ultrasound for clogged ducts
✨ Hands-on techniques
✨ Posture + positioning assessment — in the places you actually nurse at home!

Sometimes a few small changes can make a BIG difference. 💚

Painful nursing doesn’t have to be your normal.

✨ Your Mid-Back Might Be the Missing Piece! ✨

Neck pain? Tight shoulders? Back pain? Tingling into your arms? Feeling like breastfeeding or holding your baby is taking a toll on your body?

It may not be just your neck or shoulders. 👀

Your thoracic spine (mid-back) plays a BIG role in how your whole upper body moves and functions.

When your mid-back gets stiff — which can happen from pregnancy, feeding positions, carrying a baby, working at a computer, or simply spending lots of time looking down — other areas may have to work overtime.

Improving thoracic mobility can help support:

🫁 Better breathing
Your ribs attach to your thoracic spine, so mobility through this area can help your rib cage move more freely as you breathe.

💆‍♀️ Less neck & shoulder tension
When your mid-back isn't moving well, your neck and shoulders may compensate.

⚡ Less irritation associated with arm symptoms
Improving posture and movement mechanics can sometimes reduce stress on the nerves and surrounding tissues — although persistent or worsening numbness/tingling should always be evaluated.

💗 Less back discomfort
Better movement through the thoracic spine can help distribute movement more evenly instead of asking the lower back to do all the work.

🤱 More comfortable breastfeeding & baby-holding positions
You're spending A LOT of time in these positions. Helping your mid-back and rib cage move better can make it easier to find comfortable, sustainable positions while feeding and carrying your little one.

And the best part?

You don't need an hour-long workout.

Sometimes a few targeted mobility exercises, combined with strengthening and posture changes, can make a noticeable difference.

At Nurturing Mama, we look at the whole body — not just where it hurts. 💕

If you're a mama who is constantly saying, “My neck, shoulders and back are killing me from holding this baby,” let's figure out WHY.

🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

Breast cancer treatment can affect so much more than the breast itself. Surgery, lymph node removal, radiation, and reconstruction can leave women dealing with swelling, tightness, scar tissue, decreased mobility, pain, and changes in how they move.

This is an area where Nurturing Mama can help. 💗

As a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and Doctor of Physical Therapy, I can help women throughout their breast cancer journey with:

🌸 Lymphedema & swelling management
🌸 Scar tissue mobility
🌸 Shoulder and upper-body mobility
🌸 Pain and tightness
🌸 Restoring strength and movement
🌸 Education on managing and reducing risk of lymphedema
🌸 Gentle lymphatic drainage when appropriate
🌸 Getting back to the activities you love

Cancer treatment is hard enough. You shouldn't have to navigate the changes in your body alone.

And because Nurturing Mama offers mobile care, I can bring treatment and support directly to you — in the comfort of your own home. 🏡💕

If you or someone you love is going through breast cancer treatment or recovery, I’m here to help.

🎀 This October, let’s remember that breast cancer awareness isn't just about early detection. It’s also about supporting women through treatment, recovery, and life after cancer.

You are more than your diagnosis. Your body deserves care, too. 💗

💕 Hi, I’m Shandli!

If you’re new here, let me reintroduce myself!

I’m the owner of Nurturing Mama, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, pelvic floor & OB PT, licensed massage therapist, certified lymphedema therapist, and perinatal health specialist.

But my favorite role? Mama to two boys. 💙💙

I created Nurturing Mama because I believe women deserve more than being told to “just live with it” after pregnancy and birth.

I help mamas feel stronger, move better, reduce pain, and better understand their bodies through pelvic floor PT, pregnancy & postpartum care, massage, lymphatic drainage, and education.

And I bring that care to you through mobile, in-home services. 🌿

I’m so glad you’re here!

💚 Something new at Nurturing Mama!

I’m now offering FERTILITY SUPPORT through physical therapy! 🥰

If you’re preparing for pregnancy—whether you’re trying naturally or going through IVF—there are things we can do to help your body feel more prepared and supported along the way.

Through gentle, targeted work, we can focus on things like:
✨ circulation to the pelvis
✨ reducing tension and restrictions
✨ pelvic and abdominal mobility
✨ helping your body feel more balanced and connected
✨ preparing your body for conception and pregnancy

Fertility can be such a BIG journey, and sometimes it feels like there’s so much focus on the medical side that we forget about supporting the body, too.

My goal is to give you another layer of support—helping you OPTIMIZE YOUR BODY AND PELVIS FOR FERTILITY while you navigate your own unique journey. 🤍

Whether you’re just starting to try, preparing for IVF, or have been on this road for a while, I’d love to help.

✨ Why Choose Cash-Based Physical Therapy with Nurturing Mama? ✨

You may be wondering… “Why would I pay out of pocket for physical therapy when I have insurance?”

Because sometimes, your care should be about YOU — not your insurance company. 💕

At Nurturing Mama, cash-based care means:

🌿 More time with your therapist
No rushing through a 20–30 minute appointment. Your initial evaluation is 60–75 minutes, giving us time to listen, assess, and create a plan specifically for you.

🌿 Personalized care
Your body, your pregnancy, your birth, and your postpartum experience are unique. Your treatment should be too.

🌿 Fewer insurance restrictions
We aren't limited by insurance-approved treatment plans, visit limits, or what an insurance company decides you “need.”

🌿 Whole-person care
We can address the bigger picture — pelvic floor, core, hips, back, scar tissue, swelling, breathing, movement, and the changes happening throughout pregnancy and postpartum.

🌿 Convenience & privacy
Nurturing Mama offers mobile/in-home care, so you can receive treatment in a comfortable, familiar environment.

🌿 A superbill for potential reimbursement
Although Nurturing Mama is cash-based, you can request a superbill to submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

💗 You don't have to wait until you're struggling to seek care.
Pelvic floor PT can be an important part of preparing your body for birth, recovering after delivery, and getting back to the activities you love.

Your care shouldn't feel like you're just another appointment on a schedule.

You deserve time. You deserve answers. You deserve personalized care.

A little learning, a little adventure, and a whole lot of growth. 🤍

I’m currently in New Jersey taking two continuing education courses that I’m really excited to bring back to the Evansville area:

✨ Lymph Drainage & Vascular Release for the Pelvic Therapist
✨ The Infertility Protocol

Both courses are giving me new knowledge, techniques, and tools to add another layer to the care I provide at Nurturing Mama—especially for women navigating pelvic health, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and lymphatic concerns.

I love continuing to learn because there is always another way to help someone feel better, move better, and better understand their own body. I’m excited to take what I’m learning here and put it into practice for our community back home. 🌿

And because I was already in New Jersey… I took a quick trip into NYC! 🗽

It was good to get away from home for a little bit, explore, and remind myself that I can be independent and figure things out on my own. 😂 Although I learned one thing very quickly…

I do NOT enjoy waiting on other people to get me where I need to go. 😂

Give me a map, a destination, and the freedom to get there myself any day!

Grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, explore, and come home with even more to offer the women and families I serve. 💚
