I have never been more exhausted and more proud of a wedding. I don’t regret a single second of the months of work that went into making my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding full of florals in every way. The only flower specifically requested - scarlet begonias for my dead-head brother (who didn’t actually know what a begonia was 😂). I planted them in GA in June, took care of them for months, and then dug them up and drove them to TX to incorporate for the wedding. I was also able to get some stunning, locally grown florals from Ranch 101 Flowers! I even had some friends of the bride stop on the side of the road to cut some sunflowers.
Julia put so much effort into making this wedding special for her and my brother and had such a wonderfully unique vision. Every single bouquet and boutonnière was different, no two centerpieces were alike, the fall colors were vibrant and cheerful.
I was up for 23 hours the day of the wedding and wouldn’t change a thing! Happy Anniversary to Cooper Nash and Julia Allen Verheyden!
Also many thanks to Mockingbird Lane | Wedding Management | Texas for conducting a seamless event and allowing me to enjoy the party and WiTTE iDEA | Photo & Film for the absolutely stellar photos!

I LOVE Craspedia (also known as Billy Balls, which always makes me laugh)! I scrimped and saved every spare stem I had for years to make myself a wreath and ended up with enough to make a few more if anyone is interested. Measures ~16” across. $275. DM to order.

We’re down a dog at the Nelson household. I’m both relieved he’s no longer in pain and I miss him so much. I didn’t know I could cry this much over a dog. Winston was the sweetest potato there ever was.

Green Gables was a dream! My mom and I have been talking about this trip for 20 years and it was just as beautiful as L. M. Montgomery described it.

Well I was wrong! It turns out we’re NOT moving!
As some of you know, my husband is in the army and we’ve spent the last year thinking we were leaving the CSRA. There’s still an outside chance that that happens but it’s a very slim possibility. As a result it means I get to keep doing what I love - designing flowers for all of you! Annual floral subscriptions are live on the website again and it means I have availability for a couple of weddings this fall!
🥂Here’s to rolling with the punches and continuing to be available for whatever God throws our way!

This is your reminder to hug, cry, listen this Mother’s Day. I know someone in every single one of these categories and I imagine you do too. 💔
I’m going to try to post some ideas on how to love on these people later this week but in the meantime you can send me a DM and I’d be happy to help you word a quick note if you’re not sure what to say.
