What was your highlight of July? 👇
Today’s ride was pretty brutal to keep it real over here.
But I thought… you’ve been at the breaking point so many times and you never actually broke.
Knowing this will help me through times I don’t even know about yet.
⚠️ don’t be completely stupid though. Stopped more times than I planned today to recover and get ice. This heat is no joke. Lesson learned: eat more early too.
🎉 🎂 70 miles to celebrate my last day being 34!!

Need an easier alpine lake hike to take visiting friends?
I’ve hiked this trail during the winter, and while it’s gorgeous with snow, this is the perfect summer hike!
If you’re looking for an easy Colorado day trip, I’d definitely recommend this one.
📍 Lost Lake via Hessie
🥾 4.2 miles
📈 833 ft. Elevation gain
💃 Lunch in Nederland
⚠️ arrive early for parking or just plan to wait a few minutes for people to come out

Turns out you can win your age group if no one else signs up for the aquabike 😂
Race Recap for Tri Boulder Aquabike
Great day to test my century ride training progress. I’ve done one 70.3 before, but it’s been years since I’ve tried to swim 1.2 miles and follow it up with a long bike ride. I knew I could make it through the distances this weekend, but I knew it would be tough.
And it was 😂. Really should have done some bricks.
Thanks and for the support!! Love my friends.
Swim felt strong but then I realized I was sighting to the wrong buoy. You swim directly into the sun at the Boulder Reservoir, and a group of us were confidently swimming in the wrong direction. Corrected the issue and felt pretty good considering!
Need to push myself to get through transition faster, but I’m always so out of it coming out of the water.
I knew immediately I wouldn’t be hitting goal A on the bike. I was cramping out of the water (not as bad as last month’s race) and that didn’t stop until mile 25. Unfortunately that’s where I died. Spent the majority of the second loop riding alone which wasn’t great for morale. Really died at mile 43, came back to life at the water stop at mile 44, and died fully at mile 46. But I like to know what I can handle, and when things get hard, I just go inside myself. Sorta like meditation right? 😅
Honestly was thankful I didn’t have to run coming off the bike and have no clue how I ever did a 70.3.
Was shocked how good I felt after being off the bike for a few minutes. Recovered well throughout the day, but was trashed this morning. Maybe that’s the reported algae bloom? 😅
Looking forward to seeing what I can do next month.
Should I focus on training? Try a sprint tri? Another aquabike?
