Elevate Beauty Bar

I haven’t posted on here in a while, but I wanted to share my 10y/o cousin Athena’s story.

In May she was diagnosed with a diffused midline glioma, which is an untreatable, cancerous and terminal brain tumor. They gave her a few months- 2 years.

She underwent radiation and a clinical trial. Since then the tumor has grown 153% percent. They have been at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Ronald McDonald House West Tennessee & Northeast Arkansas in Memphis since the diagnosis, which is about 400 miles from their home.

Athena is the sweetest, most respectful girl. She compliments every person she sees and asks everyone how they are doing and tells them to have a good day. She is truly a light. My aunt is a single mom to her two kids and has been and will be out of work for the foreseeable future.

I was able to go to Memphis this weekend to visit them and stayed in the Ronald McDonald house. It was surreal to experience St. Jude and the Ronald McDonald house in person. They do such great work in supporting families during an unimaginable time.

One year ago I decided to take a chance on myself. It was the best decision I could’ve made for my career and my family.

The last year has been so fulfilling, and has allowed me to freely express all of my creativity while building meaningful connections. All while never having to miss out on time with my family.
