Beyond the Turn
Wife, Mom of 4, Nurse practitioner all while helping one of my children through an eating disorder.
Life has changed some but the journey has lead me to want to raise awareness and make a change!
STOP TELLING KIDS THEY ARE FAT OR OVERWEIGHT!!!! BMI means NOTHING! Nora was told for 2 years that her BMI was normal and she was healthy and that's all they looked at. no one looked at the trends and if youve been following me you know where that story went.
Blessed are the caregivers....for they too need rest. ππΌπ
Ashamed of feeling ashamed. But why do I have to be ashamed of feeling this way? Or why be ashamed at all? Because it's a legitimate emotion, as is joy, sadness, grief, anger, proud, and so many more. Don't hide how you feel. Feelings are not a weakness. Be who you are in the moment, but in the end be the best version of you, you can be!
First off, why didn't anybody tell me that my hats are always crooked?! π€£
So this morning I woke up with a big old roadblock while trying to get to the end of this week. And I know Friday is just beyond the turn. But man if one thing didn't go wrong the next thing did. So, Enjoy my next ramble session about how my day went. And I know there are some of you out there that Have been there done that! Happy Friday Eve!
Long video alert!!!! Updates on Nora and just life in general. I've learned a lot from my kids recently. Even if it's been painful, I think if we truly stop and pay attention more, we can learn a lot from our little heathens!
Super random video here....I have a better, but longer follow up one I did. This video is how my brain runs 24/7. A little bit of squirrel brain, randomness, awkwardness, and anxiety mix it all up and you get me π€ aren't you guys lucky?!
But seriously, who else loves them some little house on the prairie....I haven't brought myself to watch the new one yet
Positive Friday! And another long video....sorry I tried!
Look, I am just like everyone else, good days and bad days. Sometimes I wake up wanting to be inspirational and other days I long to be inspired. So I'm trying the inspirational route today. Progress does not mean more, better, faster, or stronger. Progress are the small things that lead you to a goal. And sometimes small progress is the most impactful! Ramble video point 565 π΅βπ« let's prepare our kids for adulthood by making sure they know their medical, family, and surgical history. In the university system we see so many kids not knowing this very important information and not knowing the actual importance of it for their health. So I just wanted to add more to our plates as parents and medical knowledge about themselves is actually one of the best gifts you can give them. Have a wonderful weekend!
Since women's mental health has been on the forefront I figured I would just have my say without having a specific opinion. My biggest thing will always be hormones, elevated or declining, will impact each person differently. This goes for men as well. So these blanket statements of, "how easy it will be now to blame hormones" for a horrendous crimes, are way off base. Always look at yourself as an individual and advocate for yourself. No 2 people should ever be medically treated the same no matter the circumstance. Ok I'll be back to light hearted rambling soon! π΅βπ«π€·πΌββοΈ
I actually ran today. Not far, but I got myself out and did something. Also returning to some hormone talk for this video
