The Shade Alchemist

There’s something about being a stylist that I don’t think I fully understood when I first started. Yes, I get to create beautiful art. I get to make people feel confident, refreshed, and like themselves again. But somewhere along the way, I realized I’m also given a front row seat to people’s lives.

Over the years, I’ve met so many incredible people from completely different walks of life. I’ve heard stories of love, loss, heartbreak, new beginnings, hard seasons, big dreams, quiet struggles, incredible accomplishments, and everything in between.

I’ve watched clients walk into my chair celebrating new jobs, engagements, babies, birthdays, weddings, fresh starts and major life changes. I’ve also sat with people through divorces, grief, uncertainty, illness, heartbreak, and seasons when simply getting out of bed felt like an accomplishment.

And somehow, I get to be a tiny part of all of it. 🤍

One of my most meaningful experiences was meeting a new client who had just found out she had cancer. There was an instant connection and trust that felt so much deeper than a typical appointment. She asked me if in the future I would be the one to shave her hair. I think about her often. I check in on her from time to time. I genuinely hope she knows that even though I may only be her stylist, she is someone I carry with me beyond the walls of the salon.

That’s the part of this career that means the most to me.

Because being your stylist isn’t just the couple of hours you’re sitting in my chair.

I remember your stories.
I remember what you’re going through.
I celebrate your wins with you.
I worry about you when life gets hard.
I think about you long after you’ve left my chair.

Every person who has trusted me with their hair has also, in some way, trusted me with a little piece of their life. And I don’t take that lightly.

So to all of my clients past, present, and future please know that you are so much more than an appointment on my calendar.

I see you. I hear you. I remember you. I’m always quietly rooting for you.

Maybe the most beautiful part of being a stylist is that the relationship doesn’t end when the appointment does.

Not every extension install is one size fits all 🤍

This beauty has very fine, low-density hair, so I customize her install with larger beaded sections to give her the security and support her natural hair needs without causing stress or damage. Technique matters just as much as the hair itself. We also only color the part of her hair that shows delicately to ensure the hair health ✨

We’ve been maintaining this same set of extensions for over a year (!!) and that comes down to proper installs + consistent at home care. The way you care for your hair between appointments makes all the difference in longevity, shine, and overall health.
