Day 7: we had a beautiful morning today! We got to walk some of the Gardens of God with our new besties! Some of us went on a casual walk one way and others went on a fast paced longer walk! All in all each group had fun! After the gardens we said our goodbyes and headed back to Thornton for lunch as well as our last community service project. For our last community service project we met up with someone from the local Lions Club and helped wash, dry, sort and package preowned prescription glasses. These glasses are going to those who are in need of them and aren’t able to afford them. We had some fun like usual while doing our work. After that we had some down time to just rest and hang out together for the evening and get ready to. Go home tomorrow.

Day 6: Having a big breakfast with a lot of the congregation from Fort Collins was wonderful! We even got some of the recipes to the delicious food! Before we left, they offered a prayer over us and gave us handmade bags! We love them! Then we set off towards Colorado Springs! Once there we had lunch and then got right to work with our community service project. This project was putting together blessing bags for friends who were home insecure. As we were doing that we met some awesome local youth from the church! After making the bags we hit the road and passed them out. Then we did a little window shopping before heading back for dinner and the program! The teenagers from the church got to hang out and spend the night with us!

Day 4: Today was all fun and games. Literally! We went to the Molly Brown House and had a fantastic tour. Check out some of the photos for some cool info of Molly writing to her son who was in Oregon at the time the titanic went down. We ate lunch at a nearby park. Some geese visited us as we were packing up and side eyed is because we are too good at cleaning up after ourselves and didn’t leave food for them. We then went to the Meow Wolf Museum. It’s unexplainable how neat, weird, bright and creative this place is! We had fun exploring the three floors! Then we had dinner and after we went to the Coors field to watch the Colorado Rockies play against the Boston Red Sox. It was a fun time!

Day 3: We started the day by going to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge and did a drive through audio tour. It was very neat to see all of the buffalo and prairie dogs around! We then made our way to Yuma and had lunch, did our program, we also did some community service of moving furniture and painting a shed, went to the local museum with some of the congregation folks who volunteer there AND had dinner with them! What a way to spend our time with them. It’s not everyday that we get to have two meals with the congregation!
