Today, we introduce you to Caty Murphy!

Caty is a 21-year-old senior at Chico State from Sacramento. She has been with us for about a month now and helps out in Lower Kidwell Park. Her gentleness and joy make her a perfect addition to our team, especially in the Tk/Kinder room and soon in the Preschool room!

What do you want to do when you "grow up"?
-I want to become an elementary school teacher!!

Tell us something unique about yourself. (i.e. fun hobby, talent, skill, interesting story, etc)
-I love to travel!! I have been to Maui over 10 times in my entire life!

What is your favorite thing about Kidwell Park?
-I love how welcoming each and every person is, I love how it is one big family & community!!

Help Us Welcome Our Community This October!

On Friday, October 30, from 2:00–5:00 PM, Kidwell Park will decorate BPC’s patio for Downtown Chico's Treat Street, and it will be filled with families, kids, candy, and plenty of fun—and we’d love your help making it a great afternoon for our community. We'll also be featuring Funny Faces again this year!

There are two easy ways to get involved:

• Donate candy! Help us stock up by bringing bags of candy to the church and packing Mia’s office with as much sugar as we can fit.

Welcome to our next feature in "Meet Kidwell"!

Today, we introduce you to Katherine "Kate" MacGibbon.

Kate is a 15-year-old high school sophomore from Chico. Kate has been volunteering with Kidwell events for a few years and has joined us consistently on Sunday mornings in Upper Kidwell with elementary aged students. She also helps out with after care for the adult classes that meet after Kidwell closes on Sunday mornings! She is a great helper, has a great sense of humor and is a wonderful member of our team.

*Her last name might sound familiar...we featured her older sister last week! *

What do you want to do when you "grow up"?
-I want to be a sonographer for babies!

Tell us something unique about yourself. (i.e. fun hobby, talent, skill, interesting story, etc)
-I do swim team and I like playing guitar.

What is your favorite thing about Kidwell Park?
-I love seeing the smile on the kids faces when they come.

SPECIAL KIDWELL OPPORTUNITY:

As we approach Serve Chico, Kidwell has a special opportunity to contribute before the actual service date! This year, there is an "All Church Project" serving the Chico Food Locker.

On Sunday, October 4th at the 10am service, children will be invited to bring a canned food donation forward and place it in a special basket during the children's message.

These donations will be added to the items that are donated by the general congregation between 9/13 and 10/11/2026.

*If you forget or your child doesn't have items to donate on October 4th, no problem, we will make sure that each child has something to bring forward during the message. 😃

This coming Sunday, September 20th...Kidwell will start in the Sanctuary because we have a family baptism. So, instead of dropping your kids off in the Sunday school rooms at 9:45, you will take them into service with you. The baptism will take place during the time that a children's message would be done. Following the baptism, Kidwell will dismiss to Sunday school classrooms.

Nursery aged children are welcome in the nursery at 9:45am.

Welcome to our next feature in "Meet Kidwell"! Today, we introduce you to Elizabeth "Libby" MacGibbon.

Libby is a 17 year old high school senior from Chico. Libby has been volunteering with Kidwell events for many years, and started working with us consistently on Sunday mornings a few months ago. She is a bright light in the TK-Kinder room!

What do you want to do when you "grow up"?
-I want to be a pediatric occupational therapist.

Tell us something unique about yourself. (i.e. fun hobby, talent, skill, interesting story, etc)
-I love swimming, skiing, and being part of student government at Chico High.

What is your favorite thing about Kidwell Park?
-I love being able to work with kids and help them learn about Jesus!

Important Schedule Change!

Due to illness, Kidwell Village will begin NEXT Tuesday September 22nd.

Meet Gaby Bax!

She is an 18-year-old from Chico. Gaby has been with us for several months and you will mostly see her working the nursery. She also helps out with childcare after Sunday school and other days. Thank you for all that you do, Gaby!

*What do you want to be when you "grow up"?
-I want to be an Obstetrician.

*Tell us something unique about yourself. (i.e. fun hobby, talent, skill, interesting story, etc)
-I enjoy drawing, walks, and spending time with my sisters.

*What is your favorite thing about Kidwell Park?
-My favorite thing is the people!!!

Our first feature for "Meet Kidwell" should be a familar face to many of you. She has been with us for a while, and she was just on stage this past Sunday singing for you all.

Meet Jaelyn Morgan!
She is a 19-year-old sophomore in college from Paradise. Jaelyn mostly works downstairs in Lower Kidwell Park or in Upper Kidwell Park as a one-on-one aide. She also helps tremendously with our music needs during special events. Finally, Jaelyn helps with many admin tasks, such as scheduling staff for childcare. Thank you for all that you do, Jaelyn!

*What do you want to be when you "grow up"? *
-When I grow up I want to be a pediatric therapist

*Tell us something unique about yourself. *
-Something unique about myself is that I love to sing and play guitar and a little piano here and there

*What is your favorite thing about Kidwell Park? *
-My favorite thing about Kidwell Park is getting to know each of the kids and watching them grow! I love seeing their little personalities shine and getting to be someone they’re excited to see each week.

The nature of our jobs keeps us slightly hidden from the congregation on Sundays, and we want you all to know a little bit about all of the PHENOMENAL young people that are helping to care for our church's children.
