Google Is Testing AI Chips in Space
Google is exploring whether AI computing infrastructure could eventually operate in space using solar energy, through its Project Suncatcher experiment.
What it means for the digital economy:
AI growth is increasing demand for computing power, cloud infrastructure, data centres, specialised chips and energy. The infrastructure supporting AI is becoming an industry of its own.
What it means for you:
You don’t have to build a satellite to participate in this economy.
But you can develop skills in cloud computing, data engineering, AI infrastructure and cybersecurity the technologies powering the next generation of digital services.
The future of technology is being built right now. Don’t just watch it happen learn the skills behind it.
Which of these skills will be most valuable in the next 5 years - Cloud Computing, AI, or Cybersecurity? Drop your pick in the comments and tell us why.

The U.S. executive branch has been directed to replace “Artificial Intelligence” (AI) with “Super Intelligence” (SI) in its official communications.
But this is about more than changing a name.
The administration says the term Super Intelligence better reflects how rapidly advanced AI systems are evolving: from tools that automate specific tasks to systems that can increasingly reason, create, analyze, assist with complex work, and amplify human capabilities. (The White House)
And there is an important distinction:
Superintelligence has traditionally referred to a hypothetical level of intelligence that surpasses humans across virtually all cognitive domains.
The White House’s new use of “Super Intelligence” is broader. For now, the executive order applies the term to technologies covered by the existing federal definition of AI. (The White House)
So what does this mean for you?
It means the technology conversation is moving beyond:
“How do I use AI?”
toward:
“How do I understand, build with, manage, and create value from increasingly capable intelligent systems?”
That shift will affect jobs, businesses, education, productivity, and the skills organizations need.
You do not need to wait for the technology to become “super” to start preparing.
You need to start learning now.
At Learnexity, we focus on helping people understand emerging technology, build practical digital and AI capabilities, and turn those capabilities into professional and business value.
The technology is changing.
The skills you need must change with it.

NVIDIA introduces technology designed to keep AI agents under control
NVIDIA announced its Open Agent Safety Platform designed to help organizations control and secure AI agents as they become more autonomous. It combines OpenShell, which creates a secure boundary around an AI agent’s actions, with Sentry, which can monitor and quarantine an agent if it moves outside its permitted boundaries.
The development comes as companies become more concerned about AI agents accessing systems, data and tools with too much freedom.
Why it matters:
AI agents are moving beyond simply answering questions. They can increasingly use tools, access files, call APIs and perform tasks on their own.
If AI agents can do more work for companies, someone also needs to make sure they don’t do the wrong work.
That creates a new layer of demand for technology that can control what these agents are allowed to access and do. As businesses deploy more autonomous AI, AI security, zero-trust systems, monitoring and governance become increasingly important parts of the digital economy
In simple terms:
More AI agents = more need for people who can secure them.
What it means for you:
This points to an important opportunity.
You don’t have to compete only for traditional software or data roles. You can develop skills around:
Cybersecurity, AI & Automation, AI systems and Security / AI SecOps, Cloud infrastructure, AI systems and MLOps, Monitoring and securing AI applications.
The people building AI systems will be important but the people keeping those systems secure will be important too.
Build the skills for what technology is becoming not just what it is today. Start learning with Learnexity.

AI Is Changing Jobs. Are You Changing With It?
AI is not just something happening in the technology industry. It is changing how businesses work.
Some tasks are becoming automated. New roles are emerging.
Companies increasingly need people who understand AI, data, cloud infrastructure and security.
The question is not simply: “Will AI take my job?”
A better question is: “What skills do I need to remain valuable in an AI driven workplace?”

OpenAI cancels GPT-6.1 Astra launch over safety concerns
OpenAI has shelved its planned GPT-6.1 Astra release after internal safety testing found problems involving the model’s ability to stay within its authorized scope and accurately communicate what it was doing. The model had been expected to launch in October.
What this means for the digital economy:
AI development is moving from simply asking “How powerful is this model?” to also asking “Can we safely trust it to act?”
As businesses adopt AI agents that can perform tasks with less human intervention, there will be increasing demand for AI security, monitoring, governance and responsible automation.
This means the AI economy won’t only need people who can build AI. It will also need people who can secure, monitor and manage AI systems.
What it means for you:
This is a signal to look beyond simply learning how to use AI tools.
You can build skills around:
AI & Cybersecurity
AI Automation
AI SecOps
AI Systems & MLOps
Data and cloud systems
The future of AI needs both builders and people who know how to keep those systems secure.
AI is getting more powerful but power without the right skills can create problems.
Don’t just learn how to use AI. Learn how to build, automate, secure and manage the systems behind it.

Anthropic Launches Claude Sonnet 5.5
Anthropic has released Claude Sonnet 5.5, a new AI model designed to handle coding, documents, spreadsheets, knowledge work and other everyday tasks. The model is positioned as faster and more cost-efficient than its predecessor.
Why it matters:
AI is becoming not only more capable but also cheaper to use. That makes AI-powered tools increasingly practical for businesses and individual professionals.
What it means for the digital economy:
AI is becoming more capable and more affordable. As the cost of using advanced AI falls, more businesses can integrate AI into marketing, customer service, content creation, data analysis, software development and daily operations.
This could accelerate the shift from simply using AI occasionally to building AI into everyday business workflows
What it means for you:
For students, graduates, professionals, NYSC members and tech enthusiasts, this is a reminder that learning how to use AI effectively can be more valuable than simply knowing that AI exists.
AI is getting smarter. AI tools are getting cheaper. The real question is: are your skills keeping up?
Don’t just watch the AI revolution happen learn how to use it.
