🐾 What a wonderful day at the Mountain State Dog Days Pet Expo! 🐾
I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to be a vendor today at the Bridge Sports Complex for this amazing event! ❤️
It was such a pleasure meeting so many wonderful dogs and their people, making new connections, and sharing what Custom Touched Critters has to offer. Every conversation has the potential to open doors for the future, and I’m excited to see where these new connections lead!
A huge thank you to Alex Zeck of Wild Paw K9 Solutions for putting together such a fantastic expo! The turnout was great, the demonstrations were wonderful, and it was amazing to see so many people come together for the love of dogs. 🐶🐕🦺
I truly hope this becomes an annual event that continues to grow and bring even more people, businesses, and dog lovers together each year!
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, chatted with me, and showed interest in Custom Touched Critters. I’m looking forward to building these connections and having the opportunity to help even more animals feel and move their best! 💜

💜 Emmett will be okay. 💜
Emmett had a really bad fall, resulting in some pretty significant injuries. He tore his peroneus tertius tendon in his right leg and avulsed his superficial digital flexor tendon in his left leg, meaning the tendon was pulled away from its normal attachment and permanently shifted out of position. 😞
The peroneus tertius tendon is an important structure in a horse’s hind leg. It connects muscles in the upper hind limb to the lower leg and helps coordinate the movement of the hock and stifle. It is part of the reciprocal apparatus, which allows the hock and stifle to flex and extend together. Because of this, an injury to the peroneus tertius tendon can significantly affect a horse’s ability to move the hind leg normally.
Before his veterinary appointment, I had the opportunity to work with him using MagnaWave, massage, cold laser therapy, and kinesiology taping.
The before-and-after photos show the immediate difference following his session. While bodywork cannot repair a torn or displaced tendon, the goal was to help support his comfort, circulation, surrounding soft tissues, and overall mobility while he begins the recovery process.
His veterinarian is very optimistic that with at least 6 weeks of stall rest followed by appropriate rehabilitation, Emmett can heal well and become comfortable again. ❤️
Now the real work begins: rest, patience, veterinary care, and rehab.
Sending this sweet boy all the healing thoughts as he starts his road back. 🐴💜
One session can make a difference, but sometimes the biggest part of healing is giving the body the time and support it needs.
🐾 Supporting IVDD with a little help from MagnaWave & cold laser therapy 🐾
Meet Elsa, a sweet Frenchie with a history of IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease). Dogs with IVDD can experience back pain, muscle tension, weakness, difficulty moving, and in more serious cases, neurological problems. While bodywork therapies are not a replacement for veterinary care, they can be a helpful part of a supportive care plan.
For Elsa, we used MagnaWave and cold laser therapy with the goal of supporting circulation, easing muscle tension, reducing discomfort, and helping her body relax and recover. Every dog is different, especially when there is a history of spinal disease, so treatments are always tailored to the individual and performed with their veterinary care in mind.
And because Elsa doesn’t live alone… her three Frenchie housemates decided they deserved in on the MagnaWave action too! 😂🐶🐶🐶
Sometimes the whole pack needs a little relaxation. 💆♀️🐾
Helping animals feel more comfortable and supporting their bodies alongside veterinary care is exactly why I love what I do with Custom Touched Critters. ❤️

✨ Before ➡️ After ✨
One session. Subtle changes that can make a big difference.
This horse received:
🐴 Animal Neuro-Myofascial Release (ANMR)
⚡ MagnaWave therapy
🎗️ Kinesiology taping to support both hind limb tendons
Take a look at the difference in the hind end. After the session, you can see a more balanced stance, improved symmetry, and a horse that’s standing with less tension through the pelvis and hind limbs. While every horse responds differently and results vary, helping the body move more comfortably and efficiently is always the goal.
Sometimes the biggest wins aren’t dramatic. They’re the small changes that add up to better movement, comfort, and performance.

One of my favorite parts of doing bodywork on animals isn’t just the techniques, it’s watching them tell me how they’re feeling without saying a word.
The deep sighs. The licking and chewing. The yawns. The soft eyes. The droopy lip. The full-body stretches.
Those moments are the best reminder that their bodies are letting go of tension they’ve been holding onto. Every big release is a little victory and a reminder of why I love what I do. Knowing I can help an animal feel more comfortable, move more freely, and simply feel better never gets old.
They don’t have to say “thank you.” Their reactions say it all. ❤️🐴🐄🐐
Weekends like this fill my cup. ❤️
We spent the weekend doing all our favorite things… teaching the kids how to halter train calves (or maybe the calves were teaching the kids who’s really in charge 🤷♀️😂), feeding calves Goldfish crackers because apparently they’re tiny orange connoisseurs, and chasing cows from horseback.
One of the biggest highlights was getting to sort cattle with Denali for the very first time since he came home from training. I couldn’t be more proud of him. He stayed calm, listened, and gave me everything I asked. It wasn’t perfect, but that’s not what mattered. We learned together, laughed together, and had an absolute blast.
Watching the kids build confidence with the calves and getting to enjoy these moments as a family reminds me why I love this life so much. Dusty boots, happy horses, curious calves, and memories we’ll be talking about for years. ❤️🐴🐄

What a weekend! 🤠❤️
We kicked things off at Pretzel Arena supporting one of our favorite trick riders, Carlie Hale. At just 13 years old, Carlie continues to amaze audiences by not only performing trick riding but also adding liberty work and Roman riding to her performances. Her dedication, talent, and horsemanship at such a young age are truly impressive. My daughter is a huge fan and looks up to both Carlie and Tracie Dewitt, and it has been wonderful watching young riders inspire the next generation of horsewomen.
We wrapped up the weekend at the Kopy Kat Classic, which raised enough money to donate over $8,000 to the Virginia Tech Helmet Lab for ongoing helmet safety research.
This event was organized by Christy Lyons, a previously sponsored client and one of my very first clients long before I decided to pursue my business full time.
After experiencing an extremely unfortunate accident at a show, Christy became passionate about raising awareness for helmet safety. She knows firsthand that without her helmet, the outcome could have been very different. Rather than letting that experience define her, she turned it into a mission to help others and make the equestrian community safer.
I am incredibly proud of everything Christy has accomplished. Seeing her organize her first show and raise over $8,000 for helmet safety research is an amazing achievement. Her dedication, determination, and commitment to helping others will make a difference for years to come.
Congratulations to everyone involved in making both events such a success! 🐴💙

It’s going to be a busy weekend!
Friday and Saturday I’ll be at the Pretzel Arena supporting my sponsored trick rider, Carlie Hale! While I won’t have a booth set up, I’ll be there with all of my equipment and available if anyone needs Magnawave, cold laser, massage, or other bodywork services during the event.
Then on Sunday, you’ll find me set up at the Kopy Kat Classic at the WVU Reedsville Farm! Stop by, say hello, ask questions, or learn more about how bodywork can help your animal perform and feel their best.
I look forward to seeing everyone this weekend!
Good luck to Carlie and all the competitors! 🤠🐴💙
Tiny assistant. Big heart. 🐾✨
Today’s treatment helper took her job very seriously, making sure every animal got extra love, supervision, and probably a few bonus snacks. From handing me tools to keeping the patients company, she’s already learning that animal care is about more than treatment… it’s about patience, compassion, and showing up with a kind heart.
Safe to say I’ve got the cutest little coworker around. 💕🐴🐶🐐
Laminitis can turn every step into a firewalk for a horse. 🔥🐴
When inflammation and pain take hold in the hoof, the entire body starts compensating. Shoulders tighten, posture changes, muscles fatigue, and movement becomes guarded.
While veterinary care and proper hoof management are the foundation, supportive bodywork can help horses stay more comfortable during recovery and management.
✨ How therapies like MagnaWave and cold laser may help:
• Support circulation and blood flow
• Help reduce inflammation and soreness
• Encourage relaxation in compensating muscles
• Promote overall comfort and mobility
• Support the body’s natural healing processes
Every horse responds differently, and treatment plans should always work alongside your veterinarian and farrier. Laminitis is a serious condition, but supporting the whole horse can make a meaningful difference in their comfort and recovery journey. 💙
