She slays!!!!

09/20/2026

Let’s talk about it… 🤎
As I load the trailer tonight, getting ready to head out before the sun comes up tomorrow morning, I can’t help but sit back and think about just how much work goes into growing a crop.

Whether you’re a row-crop farmer, produce farmer, flower farmer, pumpkin farmer — whatever it may be — farming is hard. And this year has been a tough one.

The yields have been there, but goodness, it has been HOT. We’ve watered, planted, replanted, watered some more, worried about rain, worried about no rain, watched the weather, fought the heat…and kept going.

A friend helped me plant mums this year, and afterward she told me, “You need to make a post about everything that goes into this. I honestly thought you were just out here playing with flowers!” 😂

And that stuck with me.

Because those pretty mums you see sitting at the farm didn’t just appear.

We planted 6,000 little babies and babied them for FOUR MONTHS. We watered them, fed them, trimmed them, watched the weather, moved them, loaded them and unloaded them. Before one mum ever makes it to someone’s front porch, we have physically handled that pot about five different times.

And now, we work another month getting them shipped out.

Over about three weeks, I’ll put close to 3,000 miles on the road delivering mums. That’s thousands of pots being picked up, loaded, hauled and unloaded — many of them by my own two hands.

Pumpkins are no different. This hasn’t been an easy pumpkin year for several growers I know. You can spend months working, thousands of dollars planting a crop, and countless hours trying to keep it alive — and Mother Nature still gets the final say.

That’s farming.

You worry when storms roll through. You wake up wondering what was damaged. You worry when it doesn’t rain. You worry when it rains too much. You lose sleep over something you’ve spent months growing because your livelihood is sitting outside completely exposed to things you cannot control.

And sometimes you wonder, does anybody realize how much goes into this?

That’s why supporting local means so much more than simply buying a mum or a pumpkin.

When you come to our farm, purchase from one of the local FFA groups selling our mums, or hire me to decorate your home or business, you’re supporting Glory Goods AND other Kentucky Proud farms and families.

And I hope people realize how much that means.

I said I was going to slow down on decorating jobs this year…but apparently I still don’t know how to tell people no. 😂 So, of course, I added more. But I genuinely love doing them. Whether I’m loading your porch with pumpkins or you’re coming out to the farm and picking out one mum, your support matters just the same.

Tonight Dad and I looked across the retail pad and talked about how we have NEVER seen it this empty this early.

It’s only the third week of September.

That blows my mind.

This has been an absolutely incredible year for our mums, and I cannot thank you enough. Every person who has driven out to the farm, every organization selling our mums, every customer who has hired me to decorate, and every person who has told somebody else about Glory Goods — thank you.

Coming back home and doing this full-time has taught me more than I could ever put into a Facebook post.

They say, “Welcome to farming, kids.” 🤘🏼 And they aren’t kidding.

So the next time you visit a pumpkin patch, grab a mum, buy a pumpkin, stop at a roadside stand, or shop from a local farmer, take a second to think about the hands that planted it, watered it, worried over it, loaded it and worked countless hours to get it there.

Buy local. Support your farmers. Support your FFA kids. Support your Kentucky Proud farms.

Because behind every mum, pumpkin, flower and piece of produce is somebody who worked harder for it than you’ll probably ever know. 🤍

And from this farmer — thank you for supporting my crazy dream. 🌾🎃🌼
