A fresh tattoo is essentially an open wound while it’s healing. Applying spray tan solution too soon can:

• Interfere with the healing process
• Cause uneven color development
• Increase the risk of infection if the skin is not fully healed

⏳ So when is it safe to spray tan?

Most tattoos require at least 2–4 weeks to heal before they can safely be spray tanned. Healing times vary depending on the size, location, and how well your skin heals, so it’s always best to follow your tattoo artist’s aftercare instructions.

💡 If your tattoo is still peeling, scabbing, shiny, tender, or itchy, it’s not ready for spray tan solution yet.
