As a woman-owned, independently operated small business, reviews like this have a much bigger impact than people may realize.

Amothecary isn’t a faceless corporation. It’s something I’ve built from the ground up—carefully selecting what we carry, creating and teaching our classes, supporting artists and makers not only locally but world wide, employing amazing people in our community, and putting an enormous amount of time and heart into creating a place that is truly unique. Doing all of it while having an infant and operating another very demanding full time job.

We absolutely welcome honest criticism. If we get something wrong, tell us. Give us the opportunity to listen, learn, and make it right. But leaving a one-star review with no explanation, especially from an anonymous account, absolutely hurts my business.

Google reviews matter. They affect whether people discover us, whether they decide to visit, and ultimately whether a small independent business continues to thrive.

Behind this business is a real person, a real family, real employees, and a whole lot of hard work and love. Feedback is valuable. But if you’re going to give a small business the lowest possible rating, please at least tell us why. This hurts my real human heart.

🍂 SEPT. PINNING CLASSES AT AMOTHECARY 🦋

Our September workshops are here! Join us Sunday, September 27th for a full day of hands-on entomology classes featuring three fascinating specimens.

🌿 11:00 AM — Luna Moth Pinning Class
Learn the delicate art of pinning the beautiful Actias Luna. Highly sought after class!

🦂 12:30 PM — Scorpion Pinning Class
A unique opportunity to learn how to properly pin and preserve a scorpion specimen. Option to pin flat or in striking pose.

🦋 2:00 PM — KIDS ONLY Butterfly Pinning Class
Designed especially for our junior entomologists ages 6–12! Kids will learn the basics of butterfly pinning in a fun, approachable class created just for them. Limited to 8 kids, parent or guardians must attend to assist as needed.

Each workshop includes your specimen, pinning supplies, tools, shadowbox, and instruction so you’ll have everything needed to complete your piece.

Space is limited for each class, so grab your seat early!

Today’s classes were one for the books. Amazing company and awesome students. I wouldn’t trade these nights for anything. First class of the day was the red cracker butterfly pictured here. Can’t wait to see what everyone does with their pieces!
