Just A Lil' Room

Big blessings can come out of just a lil room.
Today my son is 6 months old.

Looking at him got me thinking about something I probably haven’t thought enough about lately: legacy.

I started Just A Lil Room because I wanted a place where we could sit down and talk. Nothing fancy. Just real people, real conversations, real life and some things that might help somebody along the way.

Then life started life-ing.
I became a husband with an even fuller house. A father of two. Responsibilities got heavier. Priorities changed. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, the podcast got quiet.

BUT I’ve realized something...
I didn’t run out of things to say. I started having more to say.

Becoming a daddy will do that to you.
When I look at my son, I think about the kind of man I want him to know his daddy was. Not just what I provided for him, but what I taught him. What I stood for. How I treated people. How I handled hard times. How I loved his mama and his sister. How I trusted God when I didn’t have everything figured out.

One day my children are going to be grown. And if they ever come across these conversations, I want them to hear more than their daddy’s voice.
I want them to hear what I left in them.
That’s legacy.

So on my boy’s 6 month milestone, I’m reminded that maybe Just A Lil Room was never supposed to stay quiet forever.

Sometimes God will give you a big blessing just to remind you there’s still work to do in that lil room.
Happy 6 months, son. Daddy loves you.

We might need to dust that mic off. 🎙️
