Yesterday night, Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, arrived, and my daughter was among the children selected to welcome him with a bouquet of flowers.

After presenting the flowers, the organizers and security officials explained that no photographs would be taken because of security protocols. They made it clear that the visit was for official duties, not for photo opportunities.

When my daughter returned home, I asked her how everything went. She said, “Mommy, I didn’t take any pictures because they didn’t allow us to take one after I gave him the flowers.”

I smiled and told her, “My dear, don’t be disappointed. You had the rare privilege of meeting the Vice President of Nigeria face to face. Not everyone gets such an opportunity. The experience itself is something to be proud of, and it’s a memory you’ll always cherish.”

May the Lord strengthen you where you feel weak, open doors that no one can shut, and surround you with favor, protection, and unexpected blessings. Whatever has been causing you sleepless nights, may God take control and give you the peace that only He can give.

I’m still rocking the hair my daughter plaited for me two weeks ago.
She had never braided hair before, but since I couldn’t afford to have mine done at a salon, I told her, “Let’s learn together. Bring your phone, watch YouTube tutorials, and give it a try.”
The first attempt didn’t go well.
The second wasn’t perfect.
The third was better.
By the fourth try, she got the hang of it!
This is her very first braid, and I’m proudly wearing it because every expert was once a beginner. Practice truly makes perfect.
Instead of giving up, she kept trying—and that’s a lesson we can all learn from.
