TOO MUCH SUN? YOUR BODY NEEDS PROTECTION!
The sun is essential for life, but too much heat and sun exposure can be dangerous. Prolonged exposure can lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion and potentially life-threatening heat stroke.
Protect yourself:
Drink water regularly
Wear a hat and light, breathable clothing
Stay in the shade or a cool, well-ventilated place
Avoid strenuous activities during the hottest hours
Protect your eyes and skin when outdoors
Cool yourself immediately if you feel overheated
Check on children, older adults and people working outdoors
WARNING: Confusion, loss of consciousness, very high body temperature, or hot skin can be signs of heat stroke …a medical emergency.
Don’t keep this information to yourself. Share this post and help someone stay safe in the heat.
Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Stay safe.
