Unexpected things I learnt while dolling up VIP client at Ritz Carlton!
1. Aussies love their bronzers and foundations that’s slightly tanner than their skin tone; and I gotta say, they look so good in it!
Comparing what I did for my client today (with her own foundation, bronzer) and what I did yesterday (swipe to last photo), I actually prefer the look I did for her today 😄
2. Kept seeing the brands “rhode” and “westman atelier” but not tried their products until today.
WOW. rhode skin milk is such a beautiful illuminating primer! I used the pearly warm bronze just around the contours of the face and it instantly gives my client’s face a soft bronzy glow 🤩 used their pocket blush too and it’s soooo blendable
Also first time trying Westman Atelier contour stick. SUPER impressed with the colour payoff. One swipe of my brush and it’s enough for the whole face. And do you know their lipsticks are beautiful too? Used Westman Atelier lipstick in shade poppy red here 💄👄
3. Learnt that in Australia, the go to place for cosmetics shopping is Mecca, especially to get certain brands which are exclusive to them like charlotte tilbury, drunk elephant and Rhode.
4. Learnt that actually for F1 Grand Prix events, most of the VIPs are actually pretty casually dressed! My client shared she’s gonna be wearing a cap most of the time and only requested a braid. Which I’m more than happy to oblige! 😀
5. Learnt the magic of Charlotte Tilbury, CBE flawless filter today. It’s also my first time using it, as it’s my client’s product.
While I’m surprised at how light the initial coverage is, I was able to layer it to increase to medium coverage, and with a little help of liquid concealer; I achieved a beautiful glowy base which looked so effortlessly natural!
6. Finally, I also discovered Urban Decay Cosmetics actually has a glowy version of their setting spray! I’ve been repurchasing their OG black and purple bottle as I trust that with my life.
But I didn’t realised they have a glowy version until my client shared with me! She said her makeup held up for 7hours through sweat and humidity; and the glow over time helps her makeup look more radiant!
When you have dry, sensitive skin (with pigmentation), you are always on the lookout for suitable makeup products you can use to look good, without compromising on skin health and comfort.

It’s been some time since I post purely makeup portfolio.
But today I’m loving my client’s makeup look so much I gotta post it here for my memory! 😁
It’s not often I do both top and bottom black eyeliner; but decided to take a risk since my client is all game for it too. Turns out we both love this look so much 💃💃💃
Today, this post is for me. To look back on, and to remind myself that it’s ok to take risk, so long as it’s calculated haha.. and who knows, the outcome may surpass my expectations, like today.
Still learning to be a fan of my own work. Yes even after so many years. Because sometimes the more you know, the more you feel you dunno. IYKYK 🥲
But today I’m going to be my own fan.
