Fragrance has always had a language problem. Colour has Pantone. Music has notation. But scent has never had an open standard.

We built one and we’ve spent over 10 years testing it.

Classification systems for fragrance exist - but they were built for consumers, not practitioners. They tell you what family a finished perfume belongs to. They don’t give a designer language to brief with, an educator a framework to teach from, or a developer a schema to build on.

The Oo Fragrance Table is an open classification system for fragrance - 27 accords, ordered by molecular weight, free for anyone to use, teach, or build on. Think of it as a periodic table for smell.

It’s published. It has a DOI. And it’s the first structured vocabulary for scent that designers, educators, and researchers can actually cite.
