✧ I am ready to say goodbye to summer and welcome autumn with its cooler days and longer nights. Happy Autumn Equinox 🍁
✧ The joy of August was movement, coffee, connecting with people, food, nature, reading, and of course the haircut. :)
✧ In this autumn, I am ready to allow the grip of patterns to loosen, explore acceptance of the seasons of my soul, and go with my inner flow.
✧ Little moments count. 💛

✧ Yoga therapy is a personalized journey that supports your body, mind, and spirit. Here is how we work together:
✧ We start with a detailed conversation about your health history, lifestyle, environment, and wellness goals.
✧ Then, we do a gentle movement and breathing session to see how your body feels and functions.
✧ Based on our discussions, we design a customized practice that fits your unique energy and needs, in a safe way.
✧ This one-on-one support is suitable for beginners or anyone managing health challenges. Sustainable change takes commitment and effort, but you don’t have to do it by yourself. I am here to guide and support you!

I remember how tired, worn out, and unsettled I was feeling in the early years of motherhood with disrupted, and insufficient sleep.
Sleep was not enough.
My mind felt constantly “on.”
When I had a moment to rest, I couldn’t fully let go.
If this feels familiar, you’re not alone.
My intention for these 5 weeks is to support your body and mind in shifting out of stress, and into a state where deep rest, and recovery become possible again.
Through trauma-informed yoga asana, simple breath practices, and deeply restorative practices like yoga nidra, you’ll begin to:
✧ soften tension held in the body
✧ slow down an overactive mind
✧ restore your energy in a sustainable way
✧ feel more grounded, present, and supported
This is a space with guided support to help you come back to your rested self.

✧ Have you wondered why yoga asanas, breathing practices, and meditation support you in feeling better?
✧ Your nervous system has a major role in it. Your brain, spinal cord, and body nerves constantly talk to each other using electrical and chemical signals.
✧ These chemical signals are called neurotransmitters. They pass messages between your nerve cells to influence how you move, feel, and how to respond to inner and outer information.
✧ There are more than 100 types of neurotransmitters that have been identified by scientists, including famous ones like dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins.
✧ The key one for relaxation seems to be GABA (Gamma-aminobutyric acid).
✧ GABA is your brain’s natural calming chemical. It blocks stress signals to lower anxiety, relax muscles, and balance your emotions. When GABA is too low, anxiety can spike.
✧ Yoga asanas and breathing exercises can directly boost your GABA levels. This naturally lifts your mood and relaxes your nervous system.
✧ The study that supports this is named “”Effects of Yoga Versus Walking on Mood, Anxiety, and Brain GABA Levels: A Randomized Controlled MRS Study” (Streeter et al., 2010)”
✧ It is the first study to demonstrate that a drug-free, behavioral intervention—yoga asana—directly correlates with increased GABA levels and improved mood and anxiety scores.
✧ Mental health isn’t one-size-fits-all! If you need support with low mood or anxiety, please chat with a medical professional. Keep in mind that this study looked at generally healthy individuals, so it didn’t track unique personal backgrounds or everyday life factors.
✧ Be your own best friend, and cheerleader. 💛
✧ For a moment, notice with curiosity, the inner attitude, and self-talk.
✧ Explore an encouraging dialogue with yourself, and observe how that makes you feel.

✧ An intention, or inner resolution is way to cultivate direction for your attention, and efforts. It guides the flow of your daily life, and can be as an anchor, that allows you to stay grounded, and act in line with your deeper intentions.
✧ At the start of a day, a week, or at the start of your yoga practice would be a good moment to connect with the deeper intentions in your life.
✧ We will explore creating an intention during the 5-week yoga class series “Rested Mama”. Send me a message to register. We start on 8 September 2026, at 9:30.

✧ How can consistently practicing yoga therapy may help lower the blood pressure, and prevent heart related disease?
✧ Elevated, and high blood pressure can be diagnosed by your doctor, and I encourage you to have it checked.
✧ When diagnosed, high blood pressure can be managed by taking prescribed medication and/or lifestyle changes.
Note: The purpose of this post is for learning, and not for self-diagnosis or treatment. Yoga practices should not replace specialized medical guidance and/or treatment. Ask your doctor if you can start practicing yoga.
Yoga is not a substitute for standard medical care and it is not for medical emergencies.
✧ One of the lifestyle changes that somebody with high blood pressure can take is to learn how to manage stress.
✧ In a research article named “Effect of Yoga on Resting Heart Rate and Blood Pressure: A Controlled Physiological Study”, it was concluded that practicing yoga just once, for a short period can significantly improve blood pressure and heart rate, a benefit driven by changes in the autonomic nervous system.
https://www.healthcare-bulletin.co.uk/article/effect-of-yoga-on-resting-heart-rate-and-blood-pressure-a-controlled-physiological-study-3832/
✧ In a study named “Effectiveness of yoga for hypertension: systematic review and meta-analysis”, it was concluded that the three main areas to focus on in order to support lowering the blood pressure are: yoga postures, breathing practices, and meditation.
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3679769/g
✧ Yoga therapy goes beyond physical exercises; it is about cultivating the right mindset and values to handle daily stress. It is a personalized practice of movement, breathing, relaxation, and reflection. Being a practice adapted to an individual, that means that the focus can be agreed together, based on that person’s medical history, physical strength, energy level, and life context.

✧ Keep practicing yoga, but remember to get your cardio in too! Yoga does not count as an aerobic exercise, so you still need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity each week. Think of yoga as a bonus for your body, not a
