In fact, some of the biggest problems I created as a leader
came from being too nice.

dapat kinausap agad.

May mga standards
na dapat nilinaw agad.

May mga behavior
na dapat itinama agad.

Pero dahil ayaw kong maka-offend,
pinatagal ko.

At habang pinapatagal ko,
lumalaki yung presyo na binabayaran ng buong team.

One realization changed the way I lead.

A leader who avoids discomfort
usually creates bigger discomfort later.

When accountability is delayed,
good people get frustrated.

High performers lose motivation.

The culture slowly adjusts
to the lowest standard allowed.

Nakakatawa isipin.

Akala ko dati kindness
yung hindi pag-call out.

Ngayon mas nakikita ko na kindness is
helping people face reality while there is still time to improve.

Because correction protects.

Silence damages.

May season sa business ko na
ako mismo ang dahilan kung bakit
paulit-ulit ang parehong problema.

I kept rescuing.

I kept extending patience
without clear expectations.

I kept hoping things would
magically improve.

Walang nangyari.

The lesson was simple.

Leadership is not measured by
how many people feel comfortable around you.

Leadership is measured by
how many people become better
because of your leadership.

At sa totoo lang,
mas may respeto ang team sa leader
na malinaw kaysa leader na laging mabait.

People grow around clarity.

People become
confused around inconsistency.

Kaya ngayon,
I still choose kindness.

Pero kindness with standards.
Kindness with accountability.
Kindness with courage.

Because businesses do not grow
from good intentions alone.

They grow when leaders are willing to have the conversations
they used to avoid it.
