🙏 Healing Testimony of Rosarita Sharbel Al Hashem

Rosarita Sharbel Al Hashem was born in Halat, Lebanon, in 2017. Her father is a pharmacist, while her mother, Cynthia Shehadeh, is a pediatrician.

According to her mother’s testimony, the pregnancy was considered high-risk. After three years of marriage without children, Cynthia became pregnant with a baby girl. During the fifth month of pregnancy, examinations and imaging reportedly showed that the baby had one enlarged kidney, one small kidney, and a thickened neck.

In the midst of her fear and uncertainty, Cynthia prayed and questioned Jesus about her unborn child. That night, she reported hearing a powerful voice telling her that the baby had been formed completely well. She also dreamed of seeing her womb and her baby developing inside it. When she awoke, she felt reassured and told her husband that their daughter was fine.

Later, Cynthia became seriously ill with a virus, a persistent cough, and abdominal pain. At Our Lady of Succor University Hospital in Jbeil, doctors reportedly found that there was very little fluid surrounding the baby. The baby was not growing and was unable to move normally. Cynthia was warned that delivering the baby at the beginning of the sixth month would likely not allow her to survive.

She then sought treatment at the American University Hospital and turned to prayer, asking Saint Charbel to intercede before Jesus Christ. She also used Saint Charbel’s oil as part of her devotion.

After ten days in the hospital, Cynthia experienced heavy bleeding on January 16, 2017.

On March 18, 2017, she gave birth to Rosarita. The baby weighed only 734 grams, yet according to her mother’s testimony, she was born alive and well, without the health problems that had been feared during the pregnancy.

After Rosarita’s birth, a red birthmark appeared on her leg above the knee. A doctor reportedly told Cynthia that the mark would remain, become thicker, and change color. Cynthia continued to pray and anointed the birthmark with Saint Charbel’s oil. According to her testimony, the mark eventually disappeared without leaving a trace.

On August 4, 2024, Cynthia returned to Saint Charbel’s shrine to give thanks and recorded her testimony, submitting the accompanying medical documentation.

🌿 This story is shared as a testimony of faith and reported healing through the intercession of Saint Charbel. It reminds us that even in moments of fear and uncertainty, we can turn to God in prayer and place our trust in His loving care.

We warmly invite everyone to join us for our Monthly Devotion Masses in honor of St. Sharbel on Tuesday, September 22, at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Malate.

Both Masses will include the Blessing and Distribution of the Holy Oil of St. Sharbel.
