Kung gikapoy ka, pahuway.
Kung gutom ka, kaon.
Kung brokenhearted ka, tulog.
Pero kung walay kwarta…

Professionalism is not measured only by the quality of your presentation—it is reflected in how you treat the people you invite.
Today, I left our meeting genuinely disappointed. When you invite prospective clients for a business proposal and to showcase your company’s capabilities, there is an expectation of professionalism, preparation, and respect for your guests.
The meeting was held in a noisy restaurant where it was difficult to hear each other during nearly an hour of discussion. More surprisingly, despite being the host, there was not even a simple offer of water, coffee, or a meal for the guests you invited.
This is not about expecting a free lunch. It is about basic business etiquette and hospitality. In the corporate world, details matter. They reflect how much value you place on building relationships with potential clients.
The individuals sitting across the table were not casual acquaintances. They were senior executives, including the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of a company that was considering doing business with you. How you host a meeting can leave just as much of an impression as the services you present.
I sincerely hope this experience serves as constructive feedback. Choosing a professional venue where meaningful conversations can take place and demonstrating even the simplest gestures of courtesy can significantly enhance the image of your company.
Professionalism is not only about what you say during a presentation—it is about how you make your potential clients feel.
I hope future clients receive a better experience than we did.
