A little portion from the SDE where I was asked what qualities I look for in participants and what advice I would give to artists.

As a jury, I look beyond technicalities. It’s not only about how well you execute a technique, but how you understand what the client wants and translate that vision into art.

And my advice to artists, especially beginners: never stop learning. Commit to your craft, and most importantly, follow through.

“Na-try mo na mag-threading? Ano mas masakit, thread or wax?”

Sabi ni client, threading daw.

Kaya mas prefer niya ang waxing kasi mas gusto niya yung feeling na minsanan ang pag-alis ng hair instead of isa-isa, hindi raw nagkakaroon ng pasa sa skin, hindi na-scratch ang skin, and mas gusto niya yung outcome after.

Pero kanya-kanya naman talaga tayo ng preference.

Some prefer threading, some prefer waxing. If threading is what you prefer, meron din kami nun.

7/10 ang pain rating ni client sa brow waxing.

Pero iba-iba naman tayo ng pain tolerance. What feels like 7/10 for one person might feel different for another.

So ang mas interesting na tanong: bakit balik nang balik si client regularly kahit sabi niya masakit?

Simple lang.

Mabilis ang service, affordable, mas matagal ang regrowth compared to shaving, at professionally shaped na rin ang brows every time.

Sometimes, may konting sakit na worth it para sa convenience and the result you want.

Threading vs. Waxing — which one is better for your brows?

Both can be used for brow grooming and cleanup. The difference is mainly in how the unwanted hairs are removed.

Threading uses a twisted thread to remove individual hairs, so it can be very precise and is useful when you want to clean up the brow line little by little.

Waxing removes multiple hairs at once, which makes it a quick way to clean up the area around the brows and create a more defined, groomed look.

Neither method is automatically better for everyone. It can depend on your skin, hair growth, sensitivity, and the kind of brow cleanup you prefer.

For those who simply want their brows looking neat and maintained without changing their natural brow too much, brow grooming is a simple option.

As shown sa video, gumagamit ito ng controlled heat para i-treat yung skin tag or small skin growths sa surface of the skin.

Sa mga na-try kong methods for this type of concern, ito yung nakita kong pinaka-effective for removing these little butligs.

Of course, hindi lahat ng butlig sa skin ay skin tag, kaya importanteng ma-identify muna kung ano talaga yung tinatanggal bago gumawa ng procedure.

“May pagpipilian po ba ng shape?”

Hmmmm… technically, pwede kang pumili. Pero I wouldn't recommend choosing a brow shape simply because you like how it looks on someone else.

The shape has to work with your existing brows, facial features, natural brow growth, and overall proportions.

So yes, you can tell us what kind of look you like. But part of our job is to assess what shape will actually suit you — not just copy a shape from a photo.

Your brows are still your brows. We just help give them more shape, definition, and structure.
