After almost eight years, here I am again, holding a tiny piece of my heart in my arms. For so long, there was a little longing inside me, a longing to have another baby, and deep in my heart, I always wished for a baby girl. Someone who would complete the little pair I had always imagined: a kuya and his baby sister.

And then, you came.

Having you feels like going back to zero again. Back to the sleepless nights, the constant worrying, the endless feeding, the diapers, the crying, the exhaustion, and the moments when I wonder if I am doing everything right. It is not easy to become a mother all over again after almost eight years. My body, my heart, and my life are once again adjusting to a whole new rhythm.

Motherhood is beautiful, but it is never easy. It asks for sacrifices that no one can fully explain until you become a mother yourself. There will be days when I am tired, overwhelmed, and unsure of myself. There will be moments when I miss the old version of me. But even in those difficult moments, I know that you are worth every sacrifice.

Your kuya has grown so much, and now I get to watch him become your kuya. Seeing the two of you together is something I once only imagined, and now it is finally my reality.

My precious baby girl, you were a long-awaited dream, a prayer I carried quietly in my heart, and a beautiful reminder that sometimes, the things we wait for the longest become the most precious gifts.

I may be starting over again, but this time, I am starting over with a heart that already knows how deep a mother’s love can be.
