Former presidential spokesperson Atty. Salvador Panelo defended Sen. Robin Padilla against criticism over his qualifications, saying the public and the media should not underestimate the senator.

Panelo noted that despite doubts about Padilla's candidacy before the 2022 elections, the senator went on to top the senatorial race.

He added that if Vice President Sara Duterte does not run for president in 2028 for any reason, he would support Padilla as the next President of the Philippines.
