When you have a weekend off from rearing calves and bring work home with you. This poor wee poppet is on a mix of electrolytes and a Tātarāmoa, mānono, and koromiko wairakau. Plus gold colostrum and probiotics. Trying to keep her alive until they have tested the poo sample.

Matariki is a time of reflection, renewal, and setting intentions for the year ahead. As I sit with the shifting seasons — both in the whenua and in myself — I’ve been thinking deeply about how to keep Waiawa Botanicals accessible for our community, especially with the rising cost of living touching us all.

After much consideration, I’ve decided to step back from doing markets. They’ve been beautiful spaces of connection, but they’re no longer sustainable for me. Instead, I’m putting my energy into creating a smoother, more grounded online experience so I can continue offering rongoā Māori to everyone, near and far.

I’ve updated my website so all products now reflect market-level pricing — lowered to make them more affordable and in alignment with the current climate. Rongoā should be reachable, not out of range.

The website has had a refresh to reflect the ever-changing state of me — my growth, my creativity, my wairua, and the direction Waiawa is moving in.
