A frosty start 🥶 but more gorgeous blue skies for my mobile business today. My trip north was stunning!!! I always look forward to this trip, visiting my lovely ladies in Warkworth, Matakana and Point Wells ❤️ The three to four weekly manicures and pedicures have kept all my clients nails in amazing shape.

I hope you too have found your person

Who’s coming? Let’s go, girls! 🤩🚲☕🍷After I put the mobile nail and skincare kit down and lock the car away... this is what you’ll often find us doing 🚲☀️

Auckland has been putting on a pretty good show this winter! Crisp mornings, blue skies, and sunshine make it hard to stay indoors. It feels so good to be back on my bike after breaking my foot. I ride a hybrid e-bike, so I can choose how much of a workout I want. Some days it’s all about good old-fashioned pedal power, and other days I happily let the motor give me a helping hand on those summit climbs!

Weekends are for discovering a new cycle trail, finding hidden little cafés for lunch, or perhaps a cheeky tipple in the sunshine before heading home. It’s my favourite way to stay active, explore our beautiful city, and fill my cup before another busy week on the road looking after my lovely ladies. ❤️

Auckland really turned it on this morning.
While most of you were tucked up warm with your first cuppa, I was standing on my balcony watching the sun slowly burn through the fog. It was absolutely magical... and yes, absolutely freezing! 🥶
Winter has a way of reminding us to slow down and appreciate the little moments. So before the day gets busy, here’s a little slice of this beautiful Auckland sunrise to enjoy from the comfort of your cosy world.
Pop the coffee on, snuggle under the blanket, and take 30 seconds just for you. ❤️
Happy morning, ladies. Susan xx 🚙

Aaah… the flu decided to pay a visit 😫🤧
Sorry ladies, the only thing I’m serving up this week is my simple version of traditional ham hock slow cooker soup... but trust me, it’s a goodie ❤️
A few days of rest, plenty of Vitamin C, and a big bowl of this usually has me back on my feet pretty quickly.

Hopefully back by Wednesday ladies🤞❤️

I absolutely love traditional ham hock soup, and for this one I took a shortcut with King’s Traditional Hearty Vegetable Soup Mix. Paired with the beautiful organic ham hocks from Grey Lynn Butchers it’s just delicious (thank you for the butcher recommendation Peta, ) It has saved my family from tasteless meals. And while we’re here... Peta, I still can’t stop thinking about Januarys delicious supper club, those peaches poached in Pinot Noir could be good for the flu right now 😆🍷🍑

✨Easy Slow Cooker Ham Hock Soup

Ingredients
• 1 medium onion, diced
• 3 celery stalks, sliced
• 1 leek, washed and sliced
• 1 large carrot, diced
• 1 packet King’s Traditional Hearty Vegetable Soup Mix
• 4-5 bay leaves
• 1 organic ham hock

Method:
Place the ham hock in the slow cooker and cover with hot water.
Add all remaining ingredients.
Cook on Low for 8–10 hours or
High for 4–6 hours, until the ham is falling off the bone.
Remove the bay leaves.
Shred the ham and return it to the soup.
Serve and enjoy.

🌟If too thick add more boiling water in last half hour.

⭐️Optional: For a smoother, heartier texture, blend the soup before returning the shredded ham, then garnish and serve.

Comfort food at its finest on these chilly winter days. ❤️

I was recently asked to trial this travel pillow from ✈️🚘
My verdict? An absolute YES! 🙌
Comfortable, supportive, and surprisingly compact, this little pillow exceeded all expectations. I only wish I’d had one years ago for those long-haul flights, airport stopovers, road trips, and those questionable hotel pillows we all know too well! 😬
We’re already huge fans. Their original orthopaedic pillows completely transformed our sleep quality at home…helping relieve my husband’s head and neck aches and putting an end to my constant pins and needles. A total game changer. 🏆
So naturally, I had high hopes for their travel version... and it definitely delivered. I’ll be purchasing a few more as soon as they’re in stock! 🤞

Have you found a travel pillow that actually works? Because comfort shouldn’t be something we leave behind when we travel. If not, then jump on their page and wait for the release date, I certainly am! 😘
Happy travelling! Sx

The No-Dishwasher Holiday 😖
Did you know that handwashing dishes is one of the quickest ways to shorten the life of your gel manicure? (Along with long soaks in the bath or spa!).
Heat, moisture, detergents, cutlery, scourers, and no gloves... it’s a perfect storm for weakening both your gel and your natural nails.
Of course, if you’re wearing one of those chemical-laden dipping systems that even industrial-strength products struggle to remove, you may get away with it. 🫣
Thankfully, my clients are safely wearing my chemical-10-free gel colours instead. They’re also firm believers in dishwashers—or generously outsourcing dish duty to children and grandchildren with the help of a little pocket money! 😉 The result? Gorgeous, healthy looking nails for weeks.
So come on, Airbnbs... a dishwasher (or at least one dish drawer) should be standard holiday equipment. Some of us are trying to relax! 😎
The days of Palmolive “you know your soaking in it” belong back in the 60s with Madge 😂

****Confession time... who has bribed children or grandchildren to do the dishes? 😂
